My knowledge of this is limited. The only thing I know is that it's an amazing design and appears incredibly sturdy, however after a few dry and light uses for draining pasta it started With light use, it is pretty much unusable after one year as there are splits and cracks along every perforation line and is useless with the perforations falling out, so after one year, it will have to be thrown away. A crack I had noticed earlier might have allowed me to return the item however, I am unable to do so. It is unfortunate that I would not recommend this product and won't purchase it In replacement of this stainless steel colander, I have already purchased an enamel coated stainless colander.
Thanks so much for having me. My contact with KitchenAid was unsuccessful when I used the Live Chat feature, the representative said that I should call the Customer Service department at 866-965-7846 because it's an incredibly busy time for them. We can be reached from 9 am to 5 pm EST by calling 9340. As I was unable to find a mark stating that it is BPA-free on my colander, I do not know whether or not it is. Colanders, however, are very appealing to me. It has been on my counter for over a year and is very sturdy and stays in place well. It is a nice colander because it is bigger than most others and it is not made out of wire material that will rust. I am sorry I wasn't able to be more helpful, but if I were you, I would definitely call them to inquire about it.
This colander is constructed from a rubberized plastic that provides protection from burns and abrasions, while the handles and tips of the feet are made from robust plastic. As well as the handles and feet, I like the contrast between aesthetics and functionality. Overall, I find this colander to be remarkable for the price.
My knowledge of where this is made is limited. Colanders are big and nice, but the ones I have have had the feet come off of the bottom and the ones I have have been using have not been fused to the bottom. My glue is peeling off (or perhaps they were fused with heat), so I'm not sure how they were attached. It is possible that the scalding water from the boiling pot made the colander too hot? I put a colander for a while on top of the spaghetti pot to keep it hot and moist.

As opposed to the KithenAid, which has a fairly flat bottom and only small holes in the middle of its "floor pan", this one is bullet-proof There are holes down the sides and all the way to the bottom of the barrel. Because the sides are all flat, water doesn't collect or hide, so you don't have to tip your pasta out of the sides and into the sink while you're trying to remove the last half gallon of water that has accumulated. In order to achieve the bullet shape, the outer surface contains four little "feet" that hold it steady and glide water past as if Niagra during the The colander is also easy to clean with no need for oven mitts when it's full of your favorite hot and tasty dishes You won't drool over drained goodies since the rubberized handles won't transfer the heat. Once again, we scored! I will close with a strong word of warning, based on anecdotal evidence from a previous usage Its feet came off after one of my darling children put it in the dishwasher, and shortly after losing its feet, another dear child accidentally melted it by putting a hot pot on top. You should therefore treat it with a little more You will get best results for a great deal of meals from it! I wish all of you a happy new year!.
I was in the market for a new colander after my last fell apart after a number of years of use. It had to be one I could easily place in the sink and use to strain pasta, vegetables, A durable product that would not easily fall over or be broken was required, and it had to stand on its own. That's certainly the case with the KitchenAid. I think it will last for many decades, since it's a good size. Despite the fact that the space cannot be collapsed This colander is a kitchen staple that I use frequently. It is conveniently hung on a rack so that I can grab it whenever I need it. I would recommend it.
I like the red color. Water is the only thing that falls through the hole the holes are small enough not to let any other stuff through. I was unable to completely clean some pasta that became stuck to a couple of holes along the edges since it was smushed into them. The problem is not a big deal, colanders have that problem as well. It's incredibly heavy duty and durable, so I'm happy that I bought it.
The product I used for straining spaghetti worked as expected. When the prototypes are actually tested, I would appreciate it if the manufacturers would let me know. There is a problem with this product in terms of the feet being It is prone to tipping over as a result of this design flaw. Many strands of spaghetti fall in the sink, as is obvious. I now have this worthless strainer and have to buy a new one because I have to buy a new one because a big name (Kitchen Aid) bought out and put out a horrible product. I can't flip it over since it is an OXO.
This pretty colander is a knitting tool I use to prevent tangles between the various strands of wool in knitting projects with multiple skeins. With a small steel colander, the thread strands frayed as I tried to pull them through the metal holes, and the smaller size limited the number of balls of yarn I could fit in neatly. The handle of the hammer was broken two months later when I tried to use the thing for its intended purpose - nearly burning my hand as I discovered.
When you try to spoon anything out of it, it constantly tips over in the sink. In order to hold one side, you must hold to the left or right side, which isn't possible when you hold There is no room in the cabinet for the stand because it is so high.
Now that I have drained the 3lbs, I can store them. I can drain my colander full of ground turkey burger without having to worry that it will overflow. Having a colander that's big enough to hold all the food in is really exciting since when you're on a budget it's really inconvenient to have your food disappear down the drain. I like how the handles feel like they would hold up pretty well and they're kind of rubbery as well! A colander of this quality is a great purchase, there's not a lot to say about something like this, other than the fact that it seems to be a lot of value for your money!.
My bathroom recently got an upgrade to a deep double bowl sink with different bowl sizes. A colander used to fit into my old standby bowl but wouldn't fit into the smaller bowl I keep for rinsing and As it did fit - I purchased it There is a smaller diameter, but a deeper one, so it can still carry the same load. There is nothing better than this thing Not only does it fit, but it also sits higher, so there is less chance that it will back up if the sink drains slower than the colander. Plastic (and not slick metal) means I can place it right on the sink rim, so I don't have to place it in the bottom of the sink at all. The rubber feet stick to wet surfaces and do not move. What a dude! Who knew something so utilitarian could look so good.
