Yes, any can with a rim width of less than 1/4 inch should work. It works best if you get the jaws on the rim after opening them and then press the white button to close them on the rim. Then, to finish it off, pull up. Though I find that gently squeezing the top of the can to deform it into an oval, which lifts the lid up a bit and allows you to grab and pull it away, works almost as well.
It is not necessary to wash it because it does not become dirty. It cuts all the way around the can, avoiding any contact with the contents. If you accidentally get something on it, I'd only wipe it down with a damp cloth. Because the body is made of plastic, I'm afraid it might warp or melt in the dishwasher. If you absolutely must wash it, hand wash only and do not submerge in water; if you absolutely must wash it, hand wash only and do not submerge in water. Before you put it away, make sure it's completely dry.
It certainly ought to. I'm guessing you'd use your left hand to grip the handle and your right to twist the actuator. You should be fine as long as you have two working hands.
I believe it would work well if you approached it with caution. The can is not harmed, but the top of the label may be ripped off. Before I open a can, I wash the tops of the cans. It's worth a shot because the opener works well and is reasonably priced, and you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

After about 3 months of use, it began to cut the lids off cans unevenly, resulting in tiny shards of metal that ended up in my food and cut my fingers. It should be recalled because it is the polar opposite of a safe can opener. My family is in danger of ingesting small metal shards.
Cutting the can has come to a halt, resulting in metal shavings strewn across the lid. This is a brand I would never buy again. What a letdown! Why is it so difficult to produce a high-quality item nowadays?.
Update: As a result, this opener isn't performing as well as it once did. When attempting to break the seal, he succeeds only in leaving long hair behind. as if there were slivers of metal around the edges Maybe it needs to be shaped, but it's only opened about thirty cans so far, and I'm not sure how to do that. Original review: br>br> I've purchased several of these types of openers, but this is the first that is both simple to use and reliable. There are no sharp edges or metal slivers in the can anymore, which is a big plus. It is used and enjoyed by all members of the family. It's been a month since I got it, and I've had no problems.
When it does open a can, it is very dangerous. I was surprised and pleased to learn that Rikon, a manufacturer of industrial machines, had designed something as simple as a can opener. I ignored the few negative reviews and ordered one, only to find out it was defective. This design cuts from the side rather than the top, but the cutters engaged too high, causing the top of the can to fold down over the side, and the cutters to make a partial cut. br>br>Well, I figured there was a problem with quality control, so I returned it and ordered another. Someone else had obviously returned this one - The plastic bag had been resealed after the zip tie holding the package opener had been cut. Still, I tried it on a can of tuna fish, exactly as shown in the product video, and it seemed to work if I angled the cutters. On a larger scale, however, it would not work. Worse, the cutting resulted in metal strands, which were difficult to remove. - as has been mentioned by others - This is not something you want to put in your food. br>br>There are two strikes and two returns in this game. Thank you, Amazon, and I hope Rikon resolves their Q/A issues.
It was a waste of money. When used, it shreds metal, making it extremely dangerous. I can't believe I wasted my money on this can opener. For the sake of safety, I'm not going to use it.
Metal shards fall to the ground. I had planned to purchase this can opener for quite some time, but I was extremely disappointed. To begin with, turning is extremely difficult. What's more, it's getting worse. It leaves a smattering of metal slivers around the opening after cutting. Some of the metal shards ended up in the food. I did the same thing with a different can and got the same results.
I bought it to replace a ten-year-old one. can opener that has seen better days It appeared to be a little unusual, but it's a can opener, so what can it possibly be? It opens cans without leaving jagged edges, just like the old one did. When you're done opening the cans, however, the mechanism for removing the opener is- oddly- the most inconvenient feature I have to consider how it works as I sit here. Why? It's a can opener, and you use them all the time without even thinking about it. My cat doesn't seem to understand that this opens cans just yet. He used to run as soon as I turned on our old can opener; now it's as if I've caught him off guard; still, it'll be our can opener until it breaks. or until I throw it out the window because why the hell isn't the stopping process more intuitive?! Why do I have to stop and consider what I'm doing? I'm just about to cut open a pineapple. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> It stopped working on April 20, 2020, and we no longer have a can opener. I'd expect kitchen utensils and the like to last longer than two years, so the rating will suffer as a result.
When I travel, I always bring along my original Kuhn stainless steel can opener. Yes, I dislike the taste of can lids in my food. My husband and I were not in the same place when he said there was no can opener in the house, so I reluctantly purchased this one because it appears that my original, fantastic stainless steel can opener is no longer available. This, on the other hand, works exactly like mine, and he was pleased with it. Because they're not electric and there's no risk of being cut by a jagged can, these can openers are a popular family gift. We use our cans as grease catchers or pencil holders and I have dropped my original one over the years without damage. I gave it 4 stars because it is not 100% stain I'm not sure how well this one would work on tiled kitchen floors just yet. I'll update this review once I've dropped it.
