That should be the case. It would guess that you would hold the handle with your left hand, while twisting the actuator with your right hand. It shouldn't be an issue as long as you have two hands that work properly.
The product seems to be holding up well, although I'm not sure how long it will last.
If there is a pull tab on the can, it works.
Rather than opening the top or bottom, it opens the seam on the side. This means your hand is safer since it won't be cut by the lid. There is nothing I like better than This device has been in my possession for a few months, and so far it has been fine.

The lids of the cans started being cut unevenly after about 3 months of using this product. Tiny shards of metal have been accidentally ending up in my food and cutting my fingertips. I think it's dangerous and should be recalled it's the opposite of a safe can opener. Tiny pieces of metal are in danger of dispersing in my family's eating habits.
Metal shavings have smeared all over the can lid after just stopping cutting the can. The brand was never something I would purchase My disappointment is so great! Making a quality product is proving to be more and more difficult.
I can't believe I wasted my money on this can opener. It leaves shreds of metal if you use it, so it's extremely dangerous to use. It is not safe for me to use it.
Traveling is more enjoyable for me when I have my original Kuhn can opener. My food would taste better if the lids were removed. Neither my husband nor I were in the same place on the day and he said there was no can opener in the house, so I reluctantly bought this one because it seems my original, fabulous, over 10 year stainless steel one can no longer be found It worked perfectly for him just like mine, so it was a good fit. Since the can opener is not electric and there is no danger of a sharp edge cutting you, this is a favorite gift among families. My original one has been dropped numerous times over the years without causing damage. This is not the same as 100% stainless steel and my original was not 100% stainless steel. I gave it four stars because it is not 100% stainless steel. Whether it would be good on a tiled floor in the kitchen I'm not sure yet. I will update this review after I remove the package.
While it can open most cans, you won't be able to open imported cans with this opener. It is impossible to add thicker imported lid lips since there is insufficient clearance between the cutting wheel and the toothed grip wheel. Adding one more millimeter of clearance would cure this, but it only cuts standard lids right now. If you think the "metal slivers" comments are wrong, it is simply an error on the user's part. Be aware of where you began your cut and stop just shy of an entire circle to avoid overlapping your cuts. Another reason for getting the metal slivers is that others are handling it. There is no need to worry about it at all.
Although it works on pretty much every can, the slightest flaw in the lid will cause this thing to move in different directions making it harder to open with a regular can opener. It is not something that I would Many of the cans that I used proved challenging. my tablet was defective, but I still used it. It was a very disappointing experience.
It makes opening cans such a breeze. My favorite feature of this can opener design is that it pushes the can into position to permit prying the lid off without leaving jagged edges. All you need to do is line up the can underneath the opener and start turning the handle. The handle must be turned in order for the tool to rotate from starting point all the way around. The handle will release when it has rotated the entire way! When you open the can with the little white button on the side of the can opener, you push the toothed grip open so that it grips the edge of the top of the can, then you lift the lid off. The genius is in the details! I only have one caveat, which is that it takes effort to turn the turn handle because of My ability to do it is limited, but I am determined to succeed. Physicists speculate that arthritis affected hands might find it difficult to use this can opener, as might hands with chronic pain or injury. Additionally, if you have small hands, you may not enjoy using this device! I hope everyone else is enjoying their summer! This is the can opener you have been looking for! In addition, it is an excellent value given its price!.
It would have been nice if the can opener would have been RED, so we could find it easily The "safety smooth touch" was really important to us since we have had it in other openers and, well, if you don't have that, you're missing out on a lot. We decided to give this a try because of the excellent reviews, and I'm glad we did. Only complaint I have is it's a bit tricky at first - I can't get used to it until after a few weeks of use. Because it does not clamp on to the edge of the can like most openers, it does not damage the can. Position the opener where you want it to go and start turning to secure it. I can turn it easily, and it opens the cans well. When it becomes stuck inside the can and there is nothing you can open to free it, what are you going to I'm so sorry! You can release it right away by turning it BACKWARDS. As soon as you get the hang of it, it's easy.
