Questions & Answers

Do you have any rust issues?

There have been no rust issues so far. I've only had it for a few months, but I use it at least once a week. I usually wash it by hand, but I do use the dishwasher occasionally.

This is made in which country?

Some KitchenAid products are still made in Ohio, South Carolina, Iowa, Mississippi, Indiana, Arkansas, Ontario, and Quebec, while others are made in China, and the company's appliances are sold all over North America.

Is it possible to open a ten-gallon drum with this?

Although it appears to be the case, I do not use a can of that size.

What is the success rate of this opener when it comes to opening steel cans? I'm having a hard time finding a can opener that will open imported Italian tomato cans. ?

I've used it to open a variety of cans and it's never let me down.

After two uses, the item was broken. The first two times I used it, everything was fine. I ordered it in late April and was apparently outside the window to return or request a refund by June 1. I went to use it a third time and it wouldn't turn and then completely fell apart; I ordered it in late April and apparently was outside the window to return or request a refund by June 1. Amazon, on the other hand, did the right thing and issued a full refund, eliminating the need to return the defective item.

It was only for a short period of time

This can opener has only been in my possession for about three months, but it has already been used twice. Once a week, twice a week, and once a month, respectively. It will initially cut into the lid as of yesterday, but after that it simply spins in place and no longer cuts around as it should. KitchenAid made my previous hand can opener, which lasted several years. They usually have good products, but I won't be ordering from them again.

For Us Senior Citizens, This Is Fantastic! Because my wife and I are older and no longer as strong as we once were, we decided to try 2- 3 other can openers, all of which are difficult to turn/open on very large/heavy cans
5/5

These have better grips, a better feel, and larger handles, as well as cutting capabilities. They also appear to have a higher Duty rating than the others. I'm going to order another pair as soon as possible in case we ever need another set and can't find them. We're both very pleased with the KitchenAid Gourmet Open, and we hope that it will be useful to others with weak hands. We no longer dread going to these cans because they are too big for our little electric opener. From two senior citizens, thank you KitchenAid.

Update: This is a fantastic product
3/5

The round thingy in the middle that holds it together is rusting after two washes. So that's not a good sign. Instead of a four-star rating, the rating has been reduced to a three-star rating. br>br>It does exactly what it claims to do. After watching a YouTube video, I determined that this was the best value for money. My can opener is no longer working and has been discarded. It was the shavings that were causing the problem. To get them out of my peaches, I used a big magnet. In any case, I'm not interested in eating shavings. br>br>As a result, for the time being, I've settled on a manual can opener. I needed one that was simple to use because I have a problem with my right hand; this one is very smooth and can be used by anyone in the house. That's all we want for the time being. Plus, we'll be able to take it camping with us in the RV. Quite nice!br>br>Cons: For us, the handles are a little large to be grabbing, but for others, they might not be. Once, I got a pinch on the tip of my finger.

Who would have guessed that a can opener could make such a difference? A can opener has never cost me more than a couple of dollars
5/5

to the present time. I was fed up with having to re-adjust my cheap ones just to get them to cut for a few turns of the handle. only for it to fall off and force you to start over. This device is incredible. The handle is extremely easy to turn. It doesn't move around. It has a quick and smooth cut. I used to think that opening a can was "work. " But that is no longer the case. This glides effortlessly, making can opening a breeze. My purchase made me extremely happy.

Works! Everything is in order

I've had kitchenaid can openers that removed 359 degrees of the can but left the last little bit hanging on for some reason. This is an excellent choice.

It hasn't worked for the past four months

I purchased this on April 2nd, and it no longer works, and I am unable to return it. I was looking for a dependable CanOpener and was disappointed because I had high hopes for the KitchenAid. Can openers are no longer manufactured as they once were.

The size is a little large, but it works well
5/5

This can opener performs admirably.

- -br>-br>-br>-br>-br>-br> -br>-br>-br>-br>-br>-br> Sturdy in comparison. Because the handles are long, they have a small amount of sideways give.
- Leverage is enhanced by long handles. This means that piercing the can and holding on to it will take less effort.
- Cans can be opened with less force thanks to the large rotator handle.
