Some people may not like this, but I usually wipe clean and store if I'm not opening anything too crazy. Aside from that, I occasionally wash it with the metal side down to allow the water to drain from the handle and then let it dry for an entire day before storing it. If not constantly used and handled carefully, I believe it will last a long time. It wouldn't turn easily when turned like a normal opener, so I turned the handle towards myself instead of away at first, but then it just started working normally, I think because my boyfriend cranked it hard enough. It's lovely and worth a shot if you make sure it doesn't rust; however, rust can be cleaned if you're interested.
The standard is very high. It's a powerful tool that's also incredibly simple to use. The turn handle is large enough to easily turn while also being small enough to store in a drawer. It's also safe to put in the dishwasher. It is something I strongly suggest. (I had the same one for about 9 years, but it eventually broke, but it seemed to last forever to me.)

The white one was the one I ended up with. You must twist towards yourself in order for it to work. Unlike most other can openers, which require you to turn away from yourself and outward. I'm hoping it doesn't break because this makes it glide and doesn't make the crackling noise. Because it appears to be a bit of a gamble. We'll have to wait and see how long it lasts. Let's see what happens today, April 7th, 2021! One major disadvantage is that it holds a lot of water, so I'd dry it with the can opening blade down and the legs up, and maybe shake it a little to get the water to start coming out much faster instead of settling in and possibly molding! That is one of my major issues with this, but it is so adorable that I want to give it a shot. br>br>The insides of its nooks and crannies are completely rusted! I only washed it once and haven't used it since, but I grabbed it today and noticed that the metals that allow it to twist and do other things are all rusted, which you can't see unless you look closely. All the large pieces and even the blades look perfect, but the parts that are basically the mechanics of it look like I dipped it in some Tapatio lol I don't mind for now, but I'm very disappointed because it'll only get worse and it sucks to wash because it never dries and now it's rusted this should be cheaper but I like that it's white and it's big this should be cheaper but I like that it's white and it's big It's as simple as remembering to twist it toward you to open cans, and it'll work perfectly.
I adore their brand; it's simple to use, and my previous one lasted five years before breaking due to my husband's incompetence.
I made the mistake of buying cheap can openers because they aren't something I use very often, but my old pair were driving me insane! br>br>I compared a few different brands and decided on these because they don't have any visible silicone that could degrade over time. I have a lot of KitchenAid products and have never had an issue with the brand. br>br>Once again, I was not disappointed and these are the sturdiest can openers I've ever had.
This is the most beautiful can opener I've ever seen. The cream color is what I got. It's a tad on the big side. So far, everything seems to be working fine.
Even a strong person will find it impossible to turn the can opener. What a letdown! It could have been a coincidence. I'm coming back.
I experimented with a few different brands, but nothing seemed to work. I was also unable to locate the exact one I had previously. I'm relieved to report that this has finally satisfied my requirements. Because I have small hands, opening cans can be difficult if the can opener is of poor quality. This is one I strongly suggest. It's easy to hold and cuts with ease. It appears to be an excellent deal.
This one is a cinch to use! I remember being able to open cans in the same way.
Every wash, the cutting area rusts out. Shame, shame, and more shame.
