The words "Made in USA" can be found on both the packaging and the metal of the opener. They made it crystal clear that this is a product of the United States of America.
Someone had run mine through the dishwasher, which caused it to freeze. I only needed to apply a small amount of light oil, such as 3 in 1 oil, and the can opener began to function normally again. I've had this can opener since Spring of 2013 and it's only now beginning to show signs of wear. br>It also appears to me that cans are made of softer metal than they were in the past, and the flanges that can openers grip seem to lose their shape more easily.
I was having a similar issue. I purchased this item under the assumption that it was made in the United States and that it would be free of defects. After just ONE wash, the thing was rusted. I only use regular dish soap, wipe the areas that my cloth can reach, and hang the cloth to dry on the dish rack. Should I just spray it with WD40 or how do you guys take care of yours? Since I'm not in the US, it's pointless to send it back.
I got mine on the 20th of April, and it has the best bottle opener I've ever seen!

It makes no difference to me whether or not this item is "made in the USA. " It's worthless, just like every other can opener on the market. It lasted less than two years and is now completely rusted. It won't even get halfway around a can before cutting stops. I'd be willing to pay $40 for a good can opener. If such a thing existed, it would be fantastic!.
This is the third time I've had one of these. The first was fantastic. It worked like a charm and lasted a long time. The openers for the next two are completely different. Give Amazon credit for quickly replacing the second item that turned out to be junk. br>br>While the packaging for the second and third openers is similar, the actual design of the opener differs. For instance, in the first image below, the left image is a stock image, while the right image is the one I received. Take note of how the top corners aren't all rounded in the same way, and how the one on the right has a non-rounded corner. At the top, there's a bottle opener that works. left? Another view of the openers can be seen in the second image, which shows how they differ from the stock version. In conclusion, these are fantastic if you have the right opener. You'll be disappointed if you get a counterfeit one. They have a poor design and do not function properly. In my case, I've had one good experience out of three.
NOTE: I have never received anything in exchange for a review, and I purchased the product at full retail price. br>br>UPDATE (7/15/19): br>br>On 6/22/19, I found a contact form on the manufacturer's website and used it to explain the problem and ask how to get the product replaced. As of December 2021, there has been no response. As a result of the poor quality control and lack of customer service, I reduced my rating from two to one star. br>br>ORIGINAL REVIEW (June 9, 2019): br>br>This is the second EZ-Easy EZ-Easy EZ-Easy EZ-Easy DUZ- IT is something I bought. The first was by far the most effective can opener I've ever encountered. Except that the blade and gears are not corrosion resistant, and they rusted quickly. The finish was then ruined by the dishwasher (it still worked, but it was no longer as sharp). The dishwasher is not to be used, according to the instructions. They should be followed. br>br>The replacement I purchased is completely ineffective. The blade is defective, and it does not cut through the lid in one spot on every can—or, in the case of large cans, two spots. I can't get the lid off by bending or twisting it because the defect is so large. I can't get large cans open without bending the metal, which is sharp and dangerous (see photo). It's most likely a quality control issue, but I'm going to try another brand next. br>br>I can't seem to locate any warranty information, and I didn't use it in time to return the item to Amazon. It has now been transformed into a paperweight.
I really want to like this, but I can't seem to get into it. I would have returned it if I hadn't thrown away the packaging, so we'll keep it as a backup. What I don't like about it is that it opens the can partially, then bends it and jumps, finishes opening it, and then stops before it is completely open. This means that you'll need a butter knife to pry open the last bit of lid that's still attached to finish opening the can. It makes no difference whether the cans are large or small. According to what I've read, this company purchased Swingline, but this is not a Swingline can opener. When I use a can opener, I want it to completely open my cans rather than leaving bits that I have to pry open. So now I'm out $10 and looking for something that actually does what it's supposed to do.
This can opener was recommended by America's Test Kitchen, so I bought it. Unfortunately, it no longer opens properly when turned clockwise after 4 months, and I can only use it in the opposite direction. If you do it the other way around, you'll end up with parts of the can that aren't open. It was also prone to rusting. It was disappointing because, when it worked, it was very simple to use and grip. br>If you found my review helpful, please click the "Helpful" button below!.
This was purchased to replace an Oxo opener that was probably around ten years old and no longer opened as easily as it once did. This opener came highly recommended by the wirecutter, and it wasn't too expensive, so I figured it would be ideal. br>br>However, I wasn't impressed with the finish when I received it. It appeared to be flimsy and poorly constructed, but hey, it's a can opener. The issue is that it is incapable of opening cans. Not all the way, at least. It leaves a section or two uncut, and there's no way to cut it off no matter how hard you try. I tried it on a few different cans and encountered the same issue. To finish opening the cans, I had to pull out the can opener tool from my Leatherman pocket knife (we had thrown out the old can opener before testing this one). br>br>As a result, I've sent this opener back and placed an order for another Oxo. That one, hopefully, will work better.
My father's can opener, which he'd had for about 250 years, had finally given up the ghost. This was a problem because I was certain that nothing else could compare to the one that some colonial tradesman had whipped up for him all those years ago. He got one from Walmart or somewhere like that, and it was a "piece of junk. " During my most recent visit to his house, I was forced to listen to him rant about how he can't seem to find a decent can opener and that nothing is made of quality these days; It was a fantastic experience. I began looking for can openers on Amazon to ensure that my next visit would not be "part two" of his can opener tirade. This one came highly recommended, and it's made in the United States (which is pretty much a requirement for my father). I had it delivered right to his door. When I returned, he was ecstatic about how well the can opener had worked - better than the one he had before - That was quite an accomplishment. It takes a lot of effort to get my father's approval (trust me, I'm still waiting after 40 years). ), but the first can of baked beans he opened with this can opener had him clicking his heels. Please don't be hesitant to contact us. It was approved by my grumpy, approving father.
