This is a good size for serving dishes or pots that are hot. In addition to using them in the kitchen, they look great on the dining room table when I host parties. The cushioning on the table surface did a good job of protecting it.

I was disappointed that they were so small despite being of good quality. My dinner plates were smaller than the placemats, so I did not want to use them as placemats. The hot plates will be used as hot plates.
