Questions & Answers

Is it possible to keep it frozen at home and use it in an ice drawer?

Because of its size, the holder could not be kept in the drawer and would have to be hung on the outside. The scoop was small enough to fit into the drawer.

Is it possible to just buy the holder because my scoop is fine but the holder has cracked?

When I looked at the available products on Amazon, I couldn't find a way to buy just the holder.

Is 11 the highest possible dimension? Is 7 inclusive of the holder's handle or exclusive of the holder?

I remember the total unit, including the scoop as it sits in the holder, being around 11. You say it's 7 inches. The scoop is completely enclosed by the sleeve and hanger assembly.

Too big for a residential ice machine; it was returned because it was too big for my home's ice machine

Your ice scoop policy is filthy, causes mildew, and is revolting. These should be bought. But seriously, this is far more convenient to use and clean than a mounted stainless steel assembly or a plastic scoop stuck in a multipurpose plexiglass container. In his restaurants, my husband takes risks and orders these to promote cleanliness and make his employees' lives easier. Stop your ice bin from becoming infested with green mildew. It's time to get rid of the dirty ice. It'll be a win-win situation for everyone.

As I've purchased these numerous times over the years, the actual scoopers used to be much cheaper. Why are you spending so much money now? Having said that, good infection control for your ice machine is essential.

Depending on the type of machine you have, you can suction it to the machine or use the metal to hang it over the edge.

Scoop is NSF certified, which means it can be safely left unattended for others to use. The design is good, with solid wall mounting and a hanger attachment that allows placement on an insulated bin so that it hangs to the outside, and the scoop returns to the holster easily. Individual servings are the right size. Drainage or solid bottom coverage can be achieved by using the collector cup cap as an option. For the function of the unit, the pricing is extremely reasonable.
