I was using Gladware or Ziplock for my entire adult life, and I simply let them degrade over time, recycling them (or losing them), and lathering, rinsing, and repeating. After some consideration, I decided to treat myself to some nice As luck would have it, I'm not the person who reviews things very often, much less food storage containers. It is only in the past few months that I have become so impressed and satisfied with these that I feel compelled to share them with you. Their airtightness, the clarity of the plastic, and the fact that they've both been run through the wash dozens of times with no sign of wear and tear speak for themselves. These Ziplocs have been working fine for nearly 20 years. Most are cloudy, warped, have holes, etc. but these keep on working. Whether we put soup directly in them or freeze them, whatever catches our fancy. It is worth spending a few more dollars so that a few more items do not end up in.
For me, these are leak-proof for transporting lunch around the office, and they are also really easy to clean since they can be cleaned Also, they removed a cord that was tangled between me and the plastic ware that would tumble out onto my head when I opened the cabinet. They freeze nicely and microwave great! The straps are vented on the sides for easy access in the microwave. My crew has dropped, tipped over, and quite frankly brutally beat up all these boxes, but so far I have not cracked or broken a single one!
