When washing by hand, follow these steps You MAY be able to keep them for a long time if you don't microwave, freeze, or dishwash them. My method for cooking is to transfer to other bowls the lids after washing them. I simply store and wash them by hand. My only complaint is that the lidless bowls are so annoying to replace and cost four times what they should. The Pyrex you own from the 60s and 70s isn't this In the 1980s. The borosilicate glassware in my lab is 50 years old and I wouldn't be able to break it with my hands if I tried. Lids are worse than this.
In total, there are nine containers and nine lids, which comes to With pots and pans with lids as well as other sets of the same type, the same thing happens.
We manufacture this product in our Charleroi, Pennsylvania plant, which has been making Pyrex since the 1950s. The product is made of soda lime glass.

This set has very little microwave resistance. Five minutes in the microwave at room temperature for 60 second, the containers shattered into a million pieces all over the microwave. I read the product description which said that the containers are microwave and oven The Pyrex container I bought blew up catastrophically on the first use after I microwaved it. I have owned other Pyrex containers and microwaved them without problems. The set is beautiful, and I love the look, but what I find the most amazing is that the microwave literally burst!.
My thanks go out to Amazon customer support for their assistance in this matter. I am completely satisfied with the solution they provided. High quality product, however, I have been using Glass Pyrex for over 15 years and have not had any issues. Until April 6, 2018, I have had no complaints at all. I experienced an incident when one of the glass bowls exploded in my microwave after heating food in it less than 3 months after receiving the set. The Pyrex set I received was very disappointing.
This issue was brought to the manufacturer's attention, but she seemed uninterested in addressing it. The potential for glass being released into food was not expressed as a concern. That's completely unacceptable in my view. The glass bowls you buy from these manufacturers are not the only ones you should consider!.
When I microwaved soup for two minutes and the glass shattered, I was scared as soup poured out of the microwave and I noticed that it cracked along the line where the soup line used to be. It doesn't seem that other reviewers have had this issue as well, so I'm not sure why it cracked. Since pyrex is a well-known name in glass, I thought the glasses would hold up pretty well. It would not be a good idea to purchase these. Better yet, buy a set of plastic that won't break for a very low price.
It's not worth the money, because the bowl shattered upon filling it with rice. I never got hot rice it was just warm, still shattered. I was not even touching it when it went so, I loaded it up with my lunch (rice and meat) and bam! It fractured. A better container than the standard plastic ones I get was what I thought of it. Maybe I am wrong after all.
Take care to avoid them. The rice blew up when they were used to heat it.
Pyrex dishes seem strong and of high quality, as I have come to expect from them. There are a few areas where they seem to be cutting back on quality, which affects the overall usability of the product. Most of the lids are good, but the two 3 cup containers with the green lids are so flimsy they won't stay on the containers. My most anticipated containers were these two, which I wanted to use for lunches, but I am not confident they will stay on in my lunch bag, so I have no plans to use them. Two of the corners easily come undone when put under minimal pressure, which is a waste because these dishes would otherwise be ideal for meal preparation. It is the following that disappointed me the most My first choice for meal prep containers was Pyrex, since I was familiar with its quality. I looked at several other companies' containers, but the lids looked easy to break, so I decided to stick with Pyrex. My instincts were incorrect in this case, so I regret that.
It is very common for me to serve them in my storage container, then cover and put them in the refrigerator. It is possible that some of the lids have gotten warped, or even ripped, over the years. This is to be expected with how frequently they are used. You can directly purchase replacement lids from Pyrex for a very reasonable price, and that is a pleasant surprise for me. I ordered this particular set with multiple sizes. It's a nice set. In my mother's honor, I gave one set of the set- Her mother-in-law gave her a set of "little pots" for Christmas, and she used them all on her Christmas dinner leftovers the next day!.
