Questions & Answers
They do make a housing for the condensing unit, but it has to be ordered separately as an accessory.
The time it takes for Wine Racks America to drop ship directly from WhisperKOOL is usually around 4 business days from the time you place your order. Because WhisperKOOL is based in California, I'd add another four points. Since you're on the east coast, transit time will be 5 business days, for a total of 8 business days. 9 days. br>Thank you for your inquiry; please contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns about this cooling unit, or wine cellar cooling in general.
Selected User Reviews For WhisperKOOL® Platinum Split System 4000 Wine Cellar Cooling Unit (up to 1,000 cu ft)
I created a room for my hobby, which I designed and built myself. To keep it at a comfortable temperature, I went with a WhisperKool unit. It developed an operational error after two years of perfect service. It was quickly arranged to return and prepare with only the cost of shipping after a call to their support center. WhisperKool owes me a debt of gratitude.
br>Forget about the 1600s and 3000s - this is the 21st century. and select "extreme 3500 ti" from the drop-down menu - If you're in a position to do so, go ahead. br>Fits in the same opening as the other units and is far, far superior to them. Doesn't cycle as frequently or as loudly as before.
I've had a WhisperKool 4000 ducted system installed in my home for the past four years. It had been five years. We've had a lot of service calls in that time for drainage issues, rust, coil replacement ($1200), and the most recent, a failed temperature probe (2). The main system is located upstairs near our main HVAC systems, is serviced every six months under our HVAC contract, and is fully accessible as installed by the HVAC team. For a system that costs over $5,000, major issues should be resolved within two years. Installations that have been in place for more than five years are not acceptable. If you have to replace the unit after 5 years, the two-year warranty means nothing. Our wine cellar (1000 bottles) is fully insulated with a vapor barrier and closed foam insulation, and we keep it at 57 degrees. Before I consider WhisperKool again, I'm going to have to think about another wine cooling solution.
For the past three years, I've been using a WhisperKOOL 7000 split system. I have around 1500 bottles of wine in my cellar. The cellar has maintained a consistent 55 temperature the entire time. I imagine the cooling unit could cool a much larger cellar than mine considering that it runs less than 50% of the% I should have placed the evaporator above the doorway, out of sight. Apart from that, I am extremely pleased with this product. br>br>.
