Questions & Answers

Yogurt turn out very thin to the point of being almost kefir-like even when 10 t powdered milk is added as an ingredient. Is there anything you can suggest?

In recent years, Ultra-filtered milk has become more and more popular It is pasteurized. As a result, the milk is heated to much higher temperatures than a regular Pasteurization process, making it less suitable for yogurt starters or cheese starter cultures. Please try to use the whole full-length Milk that has not been ultra-pasteurized (It should say on the carton that it has been pasteurized). Lastly, don't use milk that has lactose in it Free milk is best to use for culturing, as it contains no sugars.

If you use raw milk, do you have to boil it before using this machine? I use raw milk that has never been pasteurized, so I would prefer not to boil it. ?

As much raw milk as possible is what I prefer to use when making yogurt. I don't boil my milk for the yogurt. The milk is heated to 100 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, but never higher. It has worked better for me if I preheat the unit before putting it into my glass jars. For me, raw is still the best. I am not going to tell anyone not to boil it, but I prefer it still that way.

Where can I find more information on how the base unit and cover are made? Is the yogurt made out of plastic pieces, and if so, do they become heated in the Can the covers of the Jars be made of ?

Glass jars are among the jars except for those made from plastic. As a result, the base becomes warm, as do the hands, A temperature increase will keep the fermenting process going, as this is supposed to help keep the yogurt at a higher temperature. Hard plastic covers the jars, yet the jars themselves are of no use. There are too few of them. In place of the cover, there is enough space on the base to fit two empty 32 oz yogurt containers, and you may cover them with the kitchen towel just like that. I really like how this works.

These jars leak, do they not? My kids have backpacks that fit them, but I don't know if I can send them to school. You can easily clean up the mess without the yucky mess the next day ?

They've been packed for lunch with some leaking from time to time. It would probably be better for the jars to be reinforced in a kid's backpack that is always getting tossed around. In the end, I wrapped them in paper towels before packing

functional, but due to a faulty set-up, it did not reach the time I had allocated for it
3/5

A new model with an auto turn feature is appealing to me The alarm will turn off when the timer reaches the end of the set time. The turn does keep 110 degrees while it takes place. I set up a timer to enable the timer to run on time. However, for some reason, it turned off before the timer had run. The timmer turned off after only 4 hours even though I set it up for 9 hours. I had to turn it back on then reset it. In addition, the glass jars don't stand as comfortably as they should. It's just a little bit uneven, but if there's liquid in it, that In my experience, I do not fill the screw with milk up to the right of the screw. The cap neckline requires me to put milk below it.

Yogurt maker that makes the best yogurt
5/5

My husband and I have been using it everyday for the past eight I am very satisfied, there were no problems I have learned to set the right cooking time depending on the temperature in my kitchen over time. To make a low carb probiotic drink, I whisk my yogurt with salt and leftover yogurt from my previous batch to use as the starter for my next batch. I use the leftover yogurt as a starter for each new batch, so I don't need to use a new starter every time. We have used this product successfully with both raw and regular A very nice feature of the auto shut is that it shuts down when it is not needed. This means that I can leave it plugged in and go about my business without worrying about My milk doesn't have to be warmed up. Simply pour it straight from the refrigerator into a bowl, add some yogurt from my previous batch and set the right time. Where I live, it only takes around 4 hours in the peak of summer and 8-12 hours in the shoulder seasons. In the middle of winter, there are 9 hours of daylight. Neither I nor the appliance uses the jars that came with it. Rather than using a bowl that fits in the appliance, I use a bowl. It's easier for me to wash out these jars than to wash out those little ones.

First time I made yogurt, right out of the box, it was perfect
4/5

It was my first time making yogurt before I bought My first batch was made after I cleaned the unit according to the instructions. As far as the cold process method is concerned, I used it. The use of Fairlife (ultrafiltered) whole milk, UltraPure (ultrafiltered) vanilla can be substituted for I like my half & half with flavors I mixed the ingredients as follows, with half chopped and half chopped, and Chobani plain greek yogurt as a starter A 34 ounce cup of Fairlife milk and an 8 ounce half & half of UltraPure vanilla Two-thirds of half One and a half tablespoons of Chobani Greek yogurt
After mixing the ingredients and allowing them to come to room temperature, I filled all seven jars, placed them in the YM100 with the lids off, and covered them with clear dome lids. By setting the YM100 to 10 hours, I pressed the red button and let it begin the process. later, I removed the jars and refrigerated for 3 hours. I had perfectly textured yogurt that was great, firm, and smooth. *My only complaint (therefore the 4 stars is the timer). Due to the inability to pause or count down the timer, there is no way to tell how far along you are. To set the timer on my watch, I needed to set it ahead of time. Once you turn it on, you can't turn it off without unplugging it once it has been powered by the red button/light. The timer turns off automatically at the end of the time period you specify. Except for that, I think the yogurt maker is a great value for the money.

You'll save more money if you buy the one without a timer
3/5

Honestly, I cannot think of a better way to make yogurt than this. The first batch I made turned out well. My current task is to make more yogurt. There was an error with the timer and the jars. I deducted one star. There is an oddity with the timer, in that it does not indicate how much time is left with a moving knob, as I would have assumed. When you set it for 8 it will remain pointed at 8 the entire time. It will beep for completion, which I like, but I could use a separate timer or an alarm on my phone more easily. It's hard to clean the jars, I agree with the other reviewers. At the bottom, the cheese tray has a strange groove that traps the yogurt and is incredibly difficult to get into with a sponge or fingers (even though my hands are smaller). The overall experience has been good for me. Please note In the following days, you should follow The timer's beeper stopped working after it was used about half a dozen times. Now there is no reason to use the timer. If you do opt for the less expensive model, you can also use a real timer.

I have a headache from using this product
3/5

This is not a good idea. Having successfully used the Euro Cuisine YM100 Automatic Yogurt Maker on the first day I got it, I can highly recommend it. The manual has been read by me, and everything has been done as per the instructions. It stopped suddenly after 4 hours. I restarted it again for 5 hours. After 5 hours, it still won't stop. I had set the timer to 10 hours in the beginning, but it stopped suddenly after 4 hours. Upon checking the temperature of the yogurt, I found it had risen to 70c instead of the promised 40c, a disaster to say the least and quite It is a disappointment to see this product. In the meantime, I have the headache of returning it from overseas, while I spent *27$ on Shame on you!.

I want to share with you how easy it is to make great yogurt
5/5

My family has been making yogurt for 11 years and I always use a bit of the previous batch to start new batches. To make yogurt, I pour four and a half cups of milk (the cheapest local 1% milk) into a large Pyrex glass measuring cup that holds seven cups. It's called a batter bowl, and it's very handy since it has measurement marks on both sides and on the inside. Pour 4 1/2 cups milk into the Pyrex bowl, add a little powdered milk (about 1/2 cup), and microwave it In the moment that the milk goes in the microwave, plug in the yogurt maker and add one jar of Greek yogurt (from your last batch). You will be able to bring it to room temperature this way. Stirring the microwave milk halfway while it is heating up is a good idea. Place the hot milk into a large bowl after carefully removing it from the stove. My metal popcorn bowl is huge, and I use it every time. Place a large bowl of ice cubes in the bowl with the boiled milk, not the ice cubes! Bring cold water to a boil. It is very easy for boiled milk to cool very quickly when covered with cold water and ice cubes. If a drop of the cooled milk feels like body temperature inside my wrist, then I combine it with the warm yogurt starter and whisk it lightly, then I pour the mixture into seven jars, or into a rectangular Pyrex bowl that holds seven cups. I use a Pyrex measuring cup to boil the milk because it has a convenient handle and spout so that I can easily pour it, just use a cloth or oven mitt to do so. It actually has a timer! In fact, my yogurt maker came with one. It has been good to use this maker for about 3 batches per week, and I have used it for five batches. The cost per seven jars probably comes to about 70 cents!.
