My pleasure. Thank you so much for reaching out. In other words, 1 gallon is the capacity of the inner piece, which can strain 1 gallon of yogurt. Since the outer volume container is larger than the inner one, it is capable of holding more than a gallon of liquid if the outer container was simply used for filling. It is my hope that this
As an honest to goodness truth, I start with 1/2 gallon of milk and get a little more than two pints, or one quart, On the side, we can see that we are near two. The whey can be collected until it reaches the bottom of the filter, and then can be discarded. Based on my best guess, you would come out with a little less than 2 quarts of whey if you started with a gallon of milk. If that were the case, there would be no contact.
A one /2 gallon milk should be fine if you are only using a small amount of it. From half a gallon of milk, yogurt will yield 1/3 to 1/2 less It will be whey the rest of the time.
I appreciate your question. Good morning, thank you very much. The amount of time you need to cook the yogurt will depend on how thick you would like it. In order to get best results, it is best to let the yogurt cool in the fridge for a few hours before pouring it into the strainer and letting it drain for at least eight hours. It is my hope that this

I followed the directions on various blogs for the first few times I made yogurt. method of straining yogurt varied hugely according to the blog I was reading, and since I am a novice at making yogurt, I did not have any fancy equipment so I lined a colander with coffee filters and voila! Yogurt strained. The bang is followed by the When I reached the large batches, I discovered I could make yogurt with the colander method, but it was a bit of a hassle and it ate up a lot of coffee filters. In light of the fact that homemade yogurt will be a perennial favorite at our house going forward, I decided a $35 filter basket could quickly pay for itself in coffee filters alone, so I got There is nothing like this basket. Having watched the video on the main Amazon page, I made a mental note not to scoop yogurt directly out of the mesh strainer, but to turn it onto another surface. However, I forgot my mental note when I used it the first time. Throughout the process I missed out on a little yogurt that got caught in the strainer when my spatula pushed it between the mesh and the strainer. The plus side was that it was incredibly.
Over a year ago I started making yogurt, using a mesh bag, then started using a colander and paper towels. I used to strain it in mesh bags, then converted to using Messy was the only word to describe it. While I was browsing online, I found a couple yogurt strainers that were expensive and designed for small I got it when I saw it and went for it. My old unstrained yogurt is already in the fridge. I made it a couple of Then I placed my yogurt in the strainer after I had sanitized It was delicious, so I put it in the fridge and forgot about it until lunchtime. I took it out and was blown away. One of my favorite things about having one so large is being able to strain so many batches at once. According to the instructions on the box, I washed it and soaked it in warm water for 20 minutes. As for getting it clean, I didn't encounter any difficulties. This is so nice and I'm hoping it will hold up to all the yogurt making over time. This is a great product, thanks for making it.
Despite the fact that it looks like a really nice product, this did a terrible job and wasted a lot of yogurt. I let it strain overnight (like It was found that a great deal of whey was separated. Nevertheless, I made a mistake when I put the yogurt in the jars. Each one had quite a bit of whey in it. It was also impossible to scrape the yogurt off the straining mesh because it stuck to the sides of the mesh The sink was flooded with product, so a lot of it washed away. The system works well enough for me, but I wish it could work There is something nice about the lid, although the straining system isn't very thoughtful.
This single container of yogurt strainer allows me to strain one gallon of yogurt at once. It allows me to have more storage room in my refrigerator. It is a wonderful product, and I will share it with my I'm so grateful for yet another great product from Hatrigo.
There has been no response from the seller Kefir cheese (similar to yogurt, but with milk kefir) is what I am trying to make with this product. I was beyond excited about how it worked and it was fantastic. In the morning, after it was straining in the fridge, I pull it out and begin to eat it. It breaks because the lid is too heavy It's okay for stuff to happen and break, since I work in customer service. It has been frustrating, however, that the seller has not responded. Although I have used it a few times with a broken lid, I expect that soon it will crack beyond use and the refrigerator smells will infiltrate the kefir (or yogurt, when I make a batch of it). When that time comes, I will look for another brand with a less likely chance of cracking on the first try. A seller should respond when an issue arises or at least acknowledge that one exists.
When I use high-quality products, I get better results This is the end of the The bottom line is cheap - Shelf milk doesn't thicken up well during fermentation, so I end up with a lot of solids running through the strainer, especially when it has slots instead of mesh in the middle. It is not a criticism of the strainer, but an observation. Inches require a plastic framework on the outside of the yogurt container, not the inside. Yogurt gets trapped between the plastic components of the framework. There is no problem to wash it, but it is impossible to wash all the yogurt out, even with a high-powered handwasher Spatula with a narrow blade. As well as covering the center with mesh, it needs to be reinforced. I think the strainer would probably work just fine without the center bit. Yogurt can escape through the slots, which are too wide. To recover the yogurt, you have to be fast. If whey does overcome the lid before you can put the strainer back in the container, then you'll need to put the strainer onto the lid and pour everything from the container back into the strainer. To reduce the mess and clean up, I plan to make a muslin liner for this strainer. With this liner, I hope to keep more yogurt in the strainer, and reduce the cleaning time. I have updated A high-quality, relatively thick coat of paint is common today I could not see through the mesh to get at the yogurt. Half of my yogurt went straight through the sifter and into the collection container as I slowly poured it into the sifter. The yogurt is now draining in a mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth after I recovered it. After today, I will no longer have this object in my kitchen. The waste is enormous.
I like how easy it is to store in the fridge. Moreover, the bowl in which the strainer is contained is unbreakable, an advantage for sure. Prior to this, I had a euro cuisine strainer that only held 1/2 gallon at a time, but the bowl started sliding off the dish drainer one day. I'm so sorry to hear that! It's amazing how well the Hatrigo yogurt strainer works!.
