The one I used came out perfect, I pressed it for about 5 minutes Giving the dough eight seconds to spread out will help it stick. I did experience a problem when I cut the dough off of the roll. The dough shrank from 10" to 6". The plastic wrap did seem to hold its shape if I left it on there. Using parchment rounds that I can just throw directly onto the griddle or cast iron pan should help keep the format and size of the dough as long as possible I use one on the bottom and one on the top, so I'd peel off one and put dough directly on the For testing purposes, I'm also going to order two Silpat 9" rounds of this product. A thinner paper might have a more easy release.
While I do not know the weight of them, the should have a diameter larger than a ping pong ball and a diameter If you're not sure of the size you need, experiment until you're satisfied.
Without a doubt! It is quite possible to use all purpose flour or any other flour that you choose instead of almond flour. It's a weekly ritual for me to use my Cast Iron Tortilla Press. Wraps, pizza crusts, and nacho chips are some of the foods I make. That's one of my favorite presses.

After doing extensive research on one of the largest and sturdiest tortilla presses available, I decided on this one after discussing it with another brand. I was very happy with my choice. This tortilla press is exactly what I wanted. The quality of this tortilla dough system is high, and one can make tortillas of multiple sizes with it. I was able to make the perfect large tortillas that I wanted by manipulating the amount of dough I was using. Since I am eating a keto diet, I wanted to be able to make my own healthy wraps with large and thin tortillas made from low carb flour or almond flour, and with this tortilla press I was able to do so. My first use of this product made me so impressed and happy that I made a whole batch of large, super-thin tortillas and kept them in the freezer for months to come. In some reviews, people were complaining it did not make large and thin tortillas, but I totally made them in my first go. It was so relief for me that I had not paid attention to the bad reviews. My excitement and anticipation are that I will be able to keep this tortilla press for a long time to come.
As far as it goes, it's pretty good. I have used this several times, and the tortillas do not press evenly. edge closest to the handle is thinner than the edge next to the hinge, so I have to turn it and repress but it doesn't seem to even out, maybe I'm the only one. So that there is no clean up involved, I use a large ziplock bag cut in half and press the masa in it. There are no Chinese decorations on this one, and it is obviously heavy duty by all means. I've read some comments in the lower sections about the thickness of the finished product. I've seen it in actual use in the floor.
It is difficult for you to use this heavy device because it does not remain open and if you are not careful, you might bruise your hand when you use it to place dough.
simple and easy to use, and all that needs to be done to clean it is to wipe it down with a dishcloth. You can make up to 10 inch tortillas by increasing the amount of dough you mix. I made approximately 6 inch tortillas, but you can adjust the amount of dough if you wish. My wife, the mother of my children, and I are all very pleased with this product that will help us save money on tortillas.
QUALITY IS TOP NOTCH! My review of this item is followed by a comparison to the second tortilla press. There is great durability to the box the Tortillada comes in, meaning the box will hold the item without tearing apart with abuse. The instructions and packing materials inside the product box are visually appealing and are well-designed, just like the box. There are no casting errors. The pieces are very evenly cast. It also allows you to make an even flat tortilla since the tortilla press plates fit tightly together all the way around. It's a very well made product, and to my surprise it is not made in China, but rather, in This is a piece of equipment of high quality. My intention is not to ever use it in the dishwasher or to treat it any differently than the way all cast iron cookware should be treated. The manufacturer could make one small improvement by adding washers between the top plate and where it inserts between the pieces of the bottom plate in order to prevent the top plate from sliding back and forth. There is only one criticism I can make of this This item is exactly what I was looking for, and I highly recommend it. The rest of the comparison is as follows A second tortilla press, an 8-inch model made by Bioexcel, was also purchased. It is as if night and day are two different things. bioexcel 8-inch tortilla press came packaged in a flimsy product package whose boxes had been ripped because of a lack of cardboard thickness to hold the product. The product packaging itself was intact. There are several pieces that have been poorly cast and are A bolt could not be threaded through the handle easily. It was impossible to even make tortillas with these plates, as there was a huge gap between more than half of the surface area. There is a portion of dough the consistency of tortillas and a portion of dough the consistency of It's no surprise that Bioexcel products are made in China.
The gluten press is helpful for stubborn gluten-related issues There is no charge for the.
Originally, I used it only for making flat breads or tortilla wraps, but now I make individual pizza crusts out of it! I love it and hope that you do too Despite my searching, the largest diameter press I found was too small. There is less quality built than this thing (based on user reviews). We are very happy and satisfied with our purchase It would be suitable for gifting again or recommend it.
