It's made of a tough plastic that reminds me of my 40-year-old son's old Tough Stuff alphabet blocks, and it's extremely durable. Despite the fact that I don't usually do so because it's bulky, I've had no trouble putting it in the dishwasher. I hope this has been of assistance.
I've been able to fit up to 30 homemade tortillas in there and still have room to spare. It is, however, dependent on their thickness.
I don't have the paperwork for my Tortilla Keepers because I've had them for a long time, but they appear to be terra cotta. I have three and cook everything from meats, vegetables, creamed potatoes, and pasta to pancakes, scrambled eggs, French fries, and tortillas in them. They're great for chilled salads like potato salad and pasta salad, and because they're large, they're best for cooking for a large group rather than just one or two people, though they can be used for small meals as well. I adore mine and use it to prepare meals for myself and my daughter, such as fried okra and fried mushrooms, in one bowl. There are so many possibilities.
Costco has 8" uncooked tortillas that I use.

My Mexican wife consumes a great deal of tortillas. Her flimsy styrofoam warmers were useless. The tortillas are kept warm as a result of this. I've used it to keep warm biscuits as well. For at least 10 minutes, it will keep them warm. Just keep in mind that this thing is quite large. It has enough room to hold 40 tortillas comfortably. I filled it with 12 biscuits and had room for at least another 5. It appears to be quite tough.
The corn tortillas stayed warm for a long time, and there were plenty to go around. I do recommend cradling the tortillas in a kitchen hand towel to soak up the water beads created by the warmth. You won't have any soggy tortillas this way.
I bought this for my daughter because she kept stealing mine. If you put it in the microwave for a few seconds with a damp paper towel before adding food, it will keep your hot tortillas, pancakes, or any other food item hot throughout the meal and even afterward. It does not absorb odors and is simple to clean. It can fit a lot of food in it; It's ideal for family get-togethers. I am very pleased with this product, and it has never steamed up on me.
It's a lot bigger than I anticipated, and it could easily hold a full batch of either. The most important feature, however, is how well it retains heat. To keep everything nice and toasty, I don't even need to keep it in the oven while I'm cooking. This purchase has exceeded my expectations!.
Before buying this item, I read other people's reviews. I haven't used it yet, so I can't give it five stars, but I can address other issues. Despite the fact that I didn't detect any odor, I hand washed it. It feels sturdy and durable, but I am actually pleased that it is not ceramic, as I intend to use it for other food items. It is larger than the standard plastic tortilla shell keepers you'd find in a Mexican restaurant, which is fine with me because I intend to use it for other food items, so the larger size is very nice. It feels sturdy and durable, but where some complained that it was not ceramic, I am actually pleased that it is not. It is significantly lighter than a ceramic model, making it more convenient to use and store. I also like that it's dishwasher and microwave safe, though hand washing is simple due to its light weight. br>br> I'm looking forward to using it for our taco Packer football game party this Sunday! After the first use, I'll give you an update on how well it works. Follow up with: br>br> This was fantastic for a large group I was working with. The tortilla shells stayed warm for over an hour after being heated in the keeper. I'm looking forward to using it for warm rolls at Thanksgiving. It's well worth the money, and it's great for storage because it's not too heavy but still sturdy.
It appeals to me because it is durable, easy to clean, microwaveable, and large enough to hold more than taco shells or pancakes. I'd recommend parchment/wax-coated paper for this project. When using it to keep things heated/warm, place paper sheets between soft taco shells or pancakes. They will stick together if they don't have it, and the situation will become a shambles.
Although my first one arrived severely blemished, it appears that there was a manufacturing issue. A replacement was provided at no cost by Amazon. I was having a similar problem. They gave me a refund and let me keep the product, so it works well but isn't particularly attractive.
These are incredible! I bought two for a taco party I was throwing. These tortilla warmers did an excellent job of keeping the tortillas warm for a party of 25, and they are quite large. Large tortillas and a large number of small tortillas can both be easily accommodated. I'm so pleased with them that I'm planning a summer party around them. They are far superior to the store-bought foam versions.
