Questions & Answers
Dishwasher safe for the white stoneware insert and stainless steel fork guide, but hand washing is recommended. The red and stainless outer pot should only be washed by hand in soapy water. Only a damp cloth should be used to clean the red heat element, which should then be dried thoroughly. I hope this has been of assistance. Thanks.

Selected User Reviews For Trudeau Electric Scarlet Fondue Pot, 84 oz, Red
The metal inserts in the legs were a bit unappealing. br>I read a lot of reviews and thought I'd found one that was good. I'm now convinced that there is no such thing as an ideal electric fondue pot on the market. Advantages: br>br> br>For four people, the size is ideal. br>For cheese or chocolate fondue, the ceramic insert is a nice feature. br>I like that the hot plate is separate from the pot so it can be used as a warmer for other dishes. br>The temperature is at a comfortable level. It's fine to be in command. There are no precise markings on the surface. All you have to do now is guess or try. Before you start cooking, check the temperature with a thermometer. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>The finish on the metal pot does not impress me. br>The pan is made of a thin, light aluminum that feels cheap and is not suitable for use with hot oil. br>There is no enamel on the exterior finish. It's paint, so the first time you used it, it chipped. br>The insert that prevents the forks from crossing is ineffective because it takes up too much space in the opening. br>br>I was looking for a replacement for my 40-year-old electric fondue pot, but it turns out that the quality of that old pot is far superior to anything I can find now. It was bulky and cumbersome, with a heat unit that could be removed and washed. I'm keeping it because the unattractive legs are still useful. It's made of heavy cast metal, has a nonstick interior, and a real enameled exterior that's still usable despite the burned-on oil stains. br>(That old one was a Signature Montgomery Wards brand, which was most likely made by Waring or a similar company. ) As a result, it appears to be yet another case of "They don't make 'em like they used to. ".
I bought three of these and have used them twice in the last two weeks, for Christmas and New Year's dinners. They're enjoyable to use, and I intend to do so more often. Scallops, shrimp, lobsters, steak, pork, chicken, sausages, mushrooms, pearl onions, and sour dough french bread are all delicious when cooked in oil. We even tried Julia Child's co co vin, which was AMAZING.
There is a leak in the plug. I purchased two of these for a New Year's Eve fondue party with cheese and meat. They are very attractive and appear to be well-made. The issue was that there was no way to set the temperature, and they did not get hot enough for a meat fondue. It's fine for warming chocolate and cheese, but you'll have to cook them first on the stovetop and then transfer them to these, which act more like a warmer. In addition, the cord attachment bothered me. Due to the fact that it is a magnetic attachment, it kept slipping off. Extender cords are also required.
A good cheese fondue necessitates the use of the double boiler insert.
We only Fondue once or twice a year because it seems like such a chore. We added the Trudeau set this year, and I must say, it worked out quite nicely; we're thinking about getting another one because we prefer to set everything out at once rather than one course at a time.
I wish the power cord was longer so that it could reach the dining room table's center. There will be a need for an extension cord!.
They simply do not last; we only use it about four times a year. It lasts just long enough to reach the end of the warranty period before dying. If I have to replace it every year, it's not worth the money.
