I honestly would have cried if I had thought it was broken. Fondue is the glue that keeps my life together. My 12 cats are included in this. Seriously, if I burn out this pot making fondue, I'm going to have to buy another one.

Let me start by saying that I'm not the best cook in the world. Several people know that I am notorious for burning things to the bottom of pots, particularly cheese. I enjoy fondue so much that I decided to try making it at home, albeit with trepidation due to the aforementioned cheese burning. br>br>As a group, my roommates and I went out and bought a nice assortment of dips. We mixed the necessary ingredients, including Gruyere, garlic, and white wine, and then waited. We ate the cheese after only 5 to 10 minutes, when it had reached a nice viscosity. It was absolutely fantastic. It's the ideal size for a three-person group. 6 people. The best part is how easy it is to clean. Nothing was burned to the bottom, and the nonstick pot made cleanup a breeze. It cooled down quickly as well, with the pot being cool after about 10 minutes. 15 minutes, with the base taking around 20 minutes. Cooling time is 30 minutes. br>br>Shipping was excellent, and it comes in three simple parts that fit neatly into one of my kitchen apartment's large drawers. My boyfriend and female roommate both commented on how much bigger it was than they expected. br>br>The manual is brief and simple to understand, and it comes with a one-year warranty if you register with the manufacturer. The only criticism I have is that it smelled like burning plastic when first turned on, but the manual states that this is normal and should only occur once; it only lasted about five minutes, but if you don't read the manual, you may be surprised. Another potential drawback is that the cord isn't very long, so if your table or eating location is far from an outlet, you may need an extension cord. br>br>Overall, I highly recommend this product.

This was given to us as a gift, and we were eager to try it. When we turned it on, the heating element began to smoke profusely, despite the limited instructions (the entire manual is printed on a single sheet of paper). We ordered a replacement on Amazon (which arrived quickly) because the thermostat control knob appeared to be on fire, and it did the same thing. It hasn't stopped emitting smoke with a plastic/rubber burning smell after fifteen minutes of being turned on with water inside. It's revolting. And it isn't secure. I'm hoping it's just residue on the heating element, but the instructions make no mention of it, and this is the second unit with the same issue.

It cleaned up easily, even with a lot of residue from an oil fondue where we cooked a lot of meat. It was easy to use and effective, and I plan to use it again in the future. It was simple to regulate the temperature, and I was able to make a cheese and oil fondue with ease. It was a lot of fun and super easy for someone who was nervous about doing fondue for the first time. br>br>Also, be aware that the surface smells terrible the first time you use it (like burning rubber). Despite gently wiping down the surfaces ahead of time to prevent this, it was quite unpleasant and had a strong odor. br>br>The main disadvantage is that I wish I could buy extra bowls rather than a new pot. There's no need for multiple warmers if you're serving a three-course meal. Only the bowls are required, and they can be quickly swapped out on a hot cooking surface. Instead of one machine and three bowls, I now have to store a slew of electric machines. It's also a significant financial outlay for a 1-bedroom apartment. Meal is served twice a year.

We had to rely on trial and error, and our first attempt resulted in the chocolate being burned. The only thing missing is a guide, because it works best when set much lower than you might expect.

I got this item about an hour ago, unpacked it, washed it, and got to work on the recipes I found online. This is a fantastic pot! You must keep an eye on the temperature and reduce it from maximum to minimum once it reaches boiling point. Because it heats up quickly, be sure to have all of your ingredients ready. The item is a little smaller than it appears in the pictures, and I'd say it's best for two people at most. It was extremely simple to clean up afterward. We served cheese fondue as an appetizer, and chocolate fondue will be served later this evening. I wish you could buy extra bowls so you wouldn't have to clean up after each course. This would be too much work if we used it as a main course as well. In general, I'm very satisfied.

I like that I don't have to check to see if I have sterno before making a fondue. I like the pot so far; it's just that I need to get to know it better in order to get better results. Right now, I have to constantly adjust the heat, or the fondue will become too hot and fuzzy.
