Christmas dinner ruined. We followed the instructions and recipe exactly to have chocolate fondue. They simply don't heat up the chocolate enough to work. We waited over 45 minutes. We eventually gave up, used the microwave for 1 minute and then reheated as necessary. These things are terrible. Cleaning them would probably take an hour, but we're throwing them away as we can't return at this time. We'd donate them to charity, but they aren't fit to donate. Don't buy.
This really works very well. It just rrived today.
It is small but it can hold a whole bag of wilton candy melts.
The price for what u get is great I don't know why people are exaggerating with bad reviews,, u shouldn't expect much for that price but yet this melting pot surprised me , it took me exactly 20 minutes to melt a whole wilton candy melts bag which I wasn't expecting when i read all the negative reviews.
I purchased this item cause i wanted to let my kids to try it out ( since its cheap and won't feel sorry if it breaks down) and decorate their own cookies and they loved it.

I purchased this to melt chocolate for making chocolate covered pretzels for my staff for Christmas. I have made chocolate covered pretzels dozens of times and it is a pain to have the chocolate harden and then have to remelt without burning the chocolate. This double melting pot was so easy in every way! I used both sides at the same time. I melted white chocolate on one side, while melting milk chocolate on the other side. The melting pot does not get too hot and does not burn your chocolate. Very impressed with this melting pot. The only downside is that it is expensive. It is very light weight and does not seem to be something that should cost almost $40. Overall, it came with great accessories and exceeded my expectations for what I set out to accomplish.
Great deal! So far so good. I was leary based on other reviews. But given the price I could afford taking the chance. I chopped up my 2 oz chocolate cubes. I had set on high to get it melted down and lowered to low to keep warm. The molds are plastic just like the ones you buy at Michael's. They are a bit smaller. It is not Nordic baking ware quality but keep in mind the price. So it is definitely worth it and does the job. It's small so no it won't work too well for a large dinner party or a wedding.
for what I paid for it I am rating it 5 star, perfect no, very good yes, I used a small chopper to cut up two 4 ounce bars of baking chocolate, some powder most 1/8 to 1/4 pieces, put in one of the bars on high, took 12 minutes to just get melted but not for pouring melted, put the other bar in which almost filled the pot, took 30 minutes total time from first bar in for a therm to get to 110 which is good, won't burn, never did move from high, remember 30 minutes total on mine to get 110. probably took 15 or more minutes to reach 90.
even with the long melt time way better than a bowl on top of pot with water, could not control temp at all.
used some small sorbus molds bout here, ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 they are almost exactly the same as the old cerry covered sweet stuff I used to buy, so sweet could only eat 2 of them. . I used a Marciano cherry in each, two bar's little tiny left made 30. those sorbus molds are the ideal size.
just got the pot at 11: am, by 11:45 I was done
I will attach pic's used to take me for ever the pan method, now I know put the melter to high for 30 minutes, stir every 10 and you will be good to go.
attached a pic of peanut butter filled using amazon PB dry power peanut rolled into less than1/2 inch balls for filler, by the way 22 cals per candy, using Marciano cherry's or using PB that has 85 percent less calories
This is a cute little set and probably good for kids (with adult supervision).
Pros- easy to use
Pretty easy to clean (don’t forget to spray a little Pam or coconut oil on them before using - makes clean up much easier)
Heats up pretty quickly (about 10 min and chocolate is fully melted).
Does not take up a lot of space.
Cons: very cheaply made
Handles are very flimsy and after one use already loose and feel like they will pop off.
When using a paper towel to wipe them out, one of the handles bent. Be careful when cleaning out.
Cheap metal and cheap plastic.
For $35 it’s not a bad deal. For what you spend on better quality and dual melting pots it is worth it for a family fondue night or a fondue appetizer set up.
I couldn't be happier with this unit. It melts chocolate quickly and keeps it at the perfect temperature. I have even taken long breaks from my dipping efforts to relax or even watch a movie. The chocolate stays perfect and ready for use. Bloom is a thing of the past. If you can't or don't want to invest in an expensive chocolate tempering machine, I guarantee this is the next best thing. Two independent melting sides that hold one cup of chocolate means you can work with two melt colors at once. Comes with lots of accessories and a few gift wrappers. Of the many things I have purchased on Amazon, this is definitely one of the GOOD ones.
Based on reviews for this type of chocolate melter, I was very reluctant to purchase one but thought I would give it a try. Well, obviously it isn't built for lasting years and years and if you were a professional chocolatier you would certainly be buying high end, built to last for a lifetime equipment. That being said, I am very please with how this worked for me. Reservoir does look small but I had no trouble melting enough chocolate for what I wanted to do. And it really didn't take that long. I would certainly not hesitate to buy it again. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I have no idea how long it will actually last. If they were to beef it up a bit and make it more sturdy it would be 5 stars for sure. No more seized chocolate!
