I'm not sure because I've never used it on a can that big, but it works great on my canned dog food.
Yes, according to popular belief, the ideal cutting diameter is between 2 and 3 millimeters. 6 inches.
Yes, I believe that opening cans with it is a simple task, even with two fingers. However, the assumption is that you can have someone else install the battery because opening the battery cover with one hand is difficult.

I bought it because my hands are very shaky. I'm no longer able to open cans with my hands. I have no desire for an electric vehicle. It's nearly impossible to open this item in order to put batteries in it. I was unable to do so. My husband had a hard time starting it once the batteries were installed; it isn't easy to start once the batteries are installed. If you can get the opener to release the lid, the can will open with a jagged tail. It's only been used about ten times. It no longer works. Make sure you don't throw your money away.
I bought it because my mother is having trouble using the hand crank versions, and I figured this would help her out. My assumptions were incorrect. It was about a month long. We were able to remove a lid that had become stuck in the mechanism, but it no longer works. When it worked, the cut cans' edges were razor-sharp and, to be honest, dangerous. As a result, we had to exercise extreme caution. Children and people taking blood thinners should avoid it. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I'm afraid I won't be able to. Sorry.
This can opener is extremely useful. I like that it's a little smaller than the one I've had for a few years and that there are no sharp lids to contend with. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to press the button about three times on some cans to get it to cut, but it will eventually turn itself off. If you don't wait until it cuts itself off, you may not be able to get it out of the can!.
For safe disposal, I opened six 28-ounce cans of crushed tomatoes with no sharp edges. The fan's entire top is cut away, leaving a smooth edge on both sides of the can. Cutting fingers do not harm the cans when they are discarded.
It was supposed to be a gift, but after cutting myself, I just threw it away.
I was unable to correct. It took about two months for me to get over this. Only a few times has this phrase been used. The can's top had been removed. Unfortunately, the top became stuck in the opener, and we are unable to remove it at this time. I cut myself on the sharp edge in the end. I'll have to look for another opener that doesn't leave the sharp edges.
This was a bit of a challenge to work with. It became stuck so many times that it was impossible to free it.
I was unable to open the battery compartment and had to return.
