You must beware! The fuse was replaced and everything seemed to work fine, but I found that the thermostat no longer maintained the temperature I had set for it. I had never even used it once and I didn't want my money back, just a replacement. I was given the manufacturer's number. Call me if you want. I spent a lot of money in Amazon and rarely send anything back unless it doesn't fit or it doesn't work, I believe they should take it back and deal with the manufacturer. I wasted my money and was let down by Amazon support services after I wasted my time working with them. You've got nothing to thank me for.
It's kind of hard to understand why people claim they use this product negatively, but I've been using it since 2013 without any problems. It has been my go-to for years to make beef jerky for me and I've experienced no issues with the heating element as others seem to have experienced. There are only a few things I don't like about it, like having to clean the trays and there being no The rest of the product is excellent.
It is disappointing that the lifespan of this product is so short. For our dog who suffers from pancreatitis, we prepare low fat jerky for him. It worked for a period of time, but then the warranty ran out, so the dehydrator didn't work. We found that the plastic trays did not last long either, because, after 14 months, they became brittle and began breaking. You may want to spend a little more money and find one with stainless racks and a good heater that will not burn out a year after you buy it if you plan to use it once a month like we did.

My responsibility now is to send them back and make sure their requirements are met I asked if they could repair it if not, I was told they would replace it.
