It was approximately two years ago that I used it. It took the front cover only one week to crack in multiple areas after being used four days a week. A piece of the puzzle fell off today. There was no one to talk to when I tried calling customer service. In order to find a replacement cover, I simply needed a new one. In the end, I tried contacting the manufacturer and received no help from them The machine itself does a very good job of dehydrating food, but I find it very annoying that the cover literally falls apart and that I cannot replace it without replacing the entire machine.

My dislike for negative reviews is overwhelming, but in this instance I had no choice. I've never seen a dehydrator like this before. It is not possible to set the temperature. In the dehydrator, there are eight temperature settings to choose from, but if you're eating raw (less than 118 degrees), there are only 3 options to choose from (none of them providing the ideal temperature for raw food dehydration). Additionally, the timer can only be set for 30 minute increments, and out of an abundance of caution, it may only run for 20 hours at a time (the instructions state that the machine needs to be unplugged and left to cool for 2 hours after running for 20 hours). For myself, I try to avoid things that could land me in the hospital since bacteria and food poisoning are two things I'm very interested in. This is a one-star review that I wish I could give.

There are stainless steel wire trays (the food is not in contact with plastic) in this unit. Prior to running the first time, prepare as follows a) Soak trays in hot soapy water for 15 minutes then rinse under hot running 1) sponging warm water inside the dryer. 2) Ran it at maximum temperature (158F) for 1 hour During the 1 hour dry run, there was no smell of plastic. It was then used for a single run (8 hrs It is 158F and lower 8) dehydrate in a timed run. It takes exactly 0 pounds of soupy meat (soppressata) to prepare just under 4 pounds of soupy jerky (it is superbeeeeeeeeeeeee! What you need to know Six square meters is the total area of the drying surface. One square foot is five Approximately 833 square feet per 12" by 13" Here are some facts about Having 33 pounds of soupy meat rectangles (*1/4" thick) per tray is no problem. There is no problem positioning the meat all the way to the edge of the tray. As a result of going for a better quality appliance without going bust, we decided to replace our old dehydrator with one that was quiet and great quality. The unit is perfect for the job! Metal shelves and a drip tray on the bottom protect the device from spills. It is quiet and well constructed. A parchment paper liner eliminates clean up hassles when the trays are lined. It was put in the basement, but since it is quiet enough, we wouldn't have any problems if it were in the kitchen (I just don't want my dogs to create drool on the floor). Our purchase has been a great success even though I don't know how it will perform in the long term.

The batch sizes were four. This worked, and it was good for the time being. It worked for four batches and then You should just give up your job. A month ago, customer service said they'd send a replacement base (without trays since I already had those) and so far, nothing has been sent. I didn't receive an email with tracking information. Let me give it a few more days and hopefully it will happen. Without the death of the thing, this would have been a five-star rating.

This is the perfect solution for me! My preference was for the stainless racks because I felt that they were the next step up. You cannot get an Excalibur for $500 unless you pay for a plastic shelf from another brand. I also use this one to dry sprouted wheat to grind into flour because it comes with six plastic liners that have small holes. As a result, today I dehydrated bread I'd already chopped into crumbs using the three trays I'd been using to make fruit leather. To make bread crumbs in the future, I will dehydrate sliced bread and then crumb it. I am very pleased with the result. My freezer isn't cluttered with crumbs anymore since I no longer have to store them in there. We now have a canister in the cabinet to keep things in. My herbs are grown in my own garden and I dehydrate them after harvest. The extra fruit is always great once it's dried, especially if we don't eat enough of it right away. How much fun is this! There is such a peaceful atmosphere here! The microwave is quieter than this one, and it doesn't bother me at all. My choice was great. I was pleased with the fact that it came with everything I needed, including It is great that I can dehydrate anything I want at different temperatures. You can program as many as 19 events at a time. The course will take five hours.
