The answer is definitely yes. One of the containers I have used is for making soy yogurt. If you are not using shelves, simply put the container in without any shelves, and set the temperature to 105°F There is a 110 degree difference.
As for the 3900, it offers a 10 year warranty and upgraded plastics and electrical components, while the 2900 is only in the market for Here is my answer. I hope it helps.
Melinda, that is a really tough question to answer, because to answer it you have to take into account how thick your pieces are on any item you're using. Additionally, some things have a greater density to them (less air space), so they take longer to transport. The process typically takes between 12 to 24 hours If you've dehydrated for more than 20 hours, you should rehydrate within 20 hours. I found that there are some foods you should not To just just rehydrate and cook just vegetables, they are tough and chewy, but cooked in a big pot of soup with other dehydrated vegetables works fine for me. I have not done any meat in mine and don't plan to so someone else would need to discuss that. There are rumors that jerky is very popular. In fact, I bought 2 of them as a result of that. My best wishes to you, and I hope you find the answers you are seeking.
As of July 2017, my lower temperature is only 105F, since I bought the appliance. If off is set to 105, there is a little room for improvement, but it is uncertain if that will result in a lower temperature.

In order to save energy and dehydrate as much food as I could that was in my freezer, I purchased one of these last summer. I have discovered other advantages to this as well and that is working quite well for me. When fruits and vegetables go on sale, I take advantage of the opportunity to buy up a bunch and dehydrate them. Making a large batch of soup and dehydrating most of it for later use suits me just fine. There are some foods that come in #10 cans such as peaches, pineapples, and diced tomatoes that I purchase at reduced prices, dehydrate the contents, and use just what I need at the time, thus As an experiment I have dehydrated some things just to see how they would turn out. A marshmallow, a dill pickle slice, and ketchup (ketchup does not dehydrate well). In fact, I bought another of these last fall and sometimes use both of them at the same time
The dehydrators have been very reliable to me. I never had any issues with them and they do an excellent In my experience I have never been in need of a timer when dehydrating, I just check on things every now and then. I do sometimes move trays from one place to another since the bottom tray does not seem to get as much heat as the rest. It can also help if the trays are rotated occasionally. The fans are louder than I would prefer, but that is not a problem for me, they are not too The fact that the trays can be left out means that you can store or display foods that are thick or tall. It's good to know there are dehydrators out there that can do the job I need them to do. YouTube offers hundreds of videos relating to dehydrating different foods, and I have The Dehydrator Cookbook by Tammy Gangloff, which can be found on Amazon, to use as a guide. Although these machines are not perfect, they are reliable and will do the job well. The dehydrating process may take a bit of time to master, but be patient and you will succeed.
Please note that I have only cooked with the Excalibur 2900 a few times. The pros are dries fast and is extremely efficient. It can be cleaned with ease. The disadvantages are I was not prepared for the volume to be so loud. After I accidentally flooded my old dehydrator heating coil, I was in the middle of drying leftover vegetables from my garden. Many campers and hikers have referred to the Excalibur as the Cadillac of dryers over the years. Several people commented that the Excalibur was a little loud in the reviews. A computer fan should have the same noise level as the proposed There's a lot more noise than There is a high-pitched noise that can be heard from across the bedroom, the hall, and the living room, about 30 to 35 feet away. In my experiment I found that by changing the tray position a little, I could reduce the noise. In playing with it further, I found I could reduce the noise by 50% by removing two of the trays*. My old dryer could dry 5 small trays of tomatoes in 26 hours at 55% humidity with the trays removed. At 85% humidity, the Excalibur performed the job in 9 hours and resulted in 3 or 4 times as many tomatoes as the old machine. There is a loud noise coming from the dryer that I really dislike.
It took about 30 minutes to dry 20 cases of canned goods. In each case, there are 12 quarts. We had to transport them in an RV and they were prone to freezing and breaking, plus they were very heavy due to the liquid. In clean quart jars, put the dried food back after drying them over a period of 3 weeks. It is not only immune to freezing, but it is also lighter and can now store up to three quarts of food in one You only need to heat the water and add it to the device.
It is a vast improvement over the smaller machines I've used in the past. Now I can buy produce at Costco without having to waste As desserts, pineapple, apple, and mango have been the most popular. If you want to make something really tasty, try apples or pineapple. A box of orange cups from Costco (the kind with the peel top that you would throw in a lunch box) was in my pantry. I drained the fluid from several of them and placed them on the dehydrator just to see how they would turn out-- I love it so much! I love your sweet smile! For one tiny wedge of fruit, I bought some fresh mandarins and had a hard time peeling or slicing them. It turned out that the homemade cupcakes weren't quite as good as those from the cups. They were definitely more expensive than those from the cups, but we weren't eating them quickly enough, so I decided to make brownies. I love it! I dehydrate the greens we buy and grind them into powder making my own "super food" mix and add them to everything we eat (stews, soups, quiche, eggs, etc) and drink each day (my husband's daily "shake"). At this house, not a single thing goes to waste! To make it worthwhile, I need to do all 9 trays at once. Since chopping and prepping will take a lot of time, I would like to do it all at once. There isn't much room in the smaller machines, so they are much more of a chore. What an amazing thing to see! I cannot believe how much better things have gotten! An excellent value for money!.
Not as dehydrating as it should be. The heater doesn't heat to the correct temperature. In my deer processing shop, I bought two of these items and both are performing the same task. I used it for a week or two, then it stopped working properly.
I recommend it. A great deal of work has gone into this dehydrator. As a worker on an organic farm, I have the privilege of managing the waste generated in my business. I have saved some of this waste for winter by canning and dehydrating a lot of it. A wide variety of fruits and vegetables have been dehydrated, including apples, onions, carrots, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, bananas, jerky, fresh herbs, and even apples and grapes. The time has never exceeded 12 hours, even when the load is full and a little overfilled. This LED lighting is easy to keep clean and it does not appear to have any impact on our electricity Despite this purchase being a bit pricey, I am very happy with it.
It took me a long time to find the right dryer for my needs. You're getting a great deal for your money.
We have plenty of bananas every day now, along with dehydrated wild berries, frozen and canned fruits and vegetables, as well as This is an amazing product! A must-have for anyone living in the country!.
