A Proposition 65 warning does not imply that a product fails to meet any product-safety requirements. Presto® appliances are built to comply with federal and state regulations regarding safety and restricted substances. This warning is the result of a law passed by California voters in 1986 through a ballot initiative known as "Proposition 65 (Prop 65)." "The goal of Proposition 65 is to ensure that people are informed about any of the 900-plus chemicals that can be found in the environment. While we believe our products are safe when used as intended, we provide the warning as a result of this unique California law to inform consumers that the product contains chemicals on the State of California's Prop 65 list.br>br>In this case, the Prop 65 warning is incorrect, and we will work with Amazon to have it removed. br>br>If you have any questions or concerns about the Prop 65 warning, please contact the Presto Customer Service Department Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday 8: 00am - 00 p.m. Central Standard Time by phone 1- 800- 877- 0441 or by e-mail [email protected] is a valid email address. I've noticed that the temperature knob gets quite warm as well, but this does not appear to be harmful.
This is a fantastic appliance that regulates temperature over a wide range of temperatures. It can definitely be used to cook food in. You'll notice that the element heats up to temperature before turning off until it needs to regain the set temperature, as it does with every electric skillet. This is true even in electric ovens, so don't be put off by it; the food will cook evenly in the end. I use mine to make casseroles, keep food warm, and even fry.

This is valuable information. He cooks for me.
We put a lot of wear and tear on our kitchen appliances, but the Presto Skillet has held up admirably! Ours is used for a wide range of recipes. It heats evenly, cleans up nicely, and stores well because it is a little shallower overall. The legs are shallower than the cooking area. They're a nice compact piece because they're lower to the counter.
It's a fantastic product that I absolutely adore. Everyone who has visited and seen how versatile this pan is has gone out and bought one for themselves. A must-have in the kitchen and, if you have one, in the RV.
The handles and lid top were simple to put together. The size, the speed with which it heats up, and the way it cooks are all things I adore. I'd been thinking about getting an electric skillet for a while but couldn't decide which one to get. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this one. It's fantastic!.
It works well; at first, I had trouble getting the handles on, but then I realized the instructions were unclear, and the handles were supposed to be slipped on first, then screwed on. It was extremely frustrating, and my husband eventually figured it out, but I don't think I should start now because he figured it out so quickly.
I really like this skillet because it allows me to cook my entire meal in it. A blessing is the ease with which the mess can be cleaned up.
This was given back to me. It was broken when it arrived, with a loose piece rattling around inside the bottom piece. I found another brand at a local big box store for half the price, and it appears to work well so far, though I've only used it a few times. I'm afraid I got a lemon, so I can't recommend it.
After reading mostly positive reviews, I was very excited to get my hands on this skillet. The plastic handles were manufactured incorrectly and were too small to fit over the metal mounting brackets, which I discovered during assembly. br>br>As a cabinetmaker, I could probably have filed the handles down to fit, but I figured if they couldn't get a basic handle system right, what else did they screw up? The skillet is large and attractive, but you can't do much with it unless you have a way to pick it up. I'm so disappointed. I'll return it the next day.
