Questions & Answers

Is it just the beaters or does it include the accessories (dough hooks and whisk)?

Warning: I purchased a five-pack. You're getting the heavy-duty Turbo Beaters II, according to the ad. This isn't the case at all. It only came with the standard light duty Turbo Beaters, so I had to pay an extra $25 for the heavy duty beaters (model KHMTB2). But it was well worth it.

Is it possible to stir liquids on the low setting without them splattering all over the place?

Yes! For my daughter, I purchased one. I was blown away by the law. It begins slowly and gradually picks up speed. I went out and bought one for myself. People also inquire about the beaters, which are quite durable. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is this a pistacio color? Pistacio is the color of my countertop mixer. Thanks. ?

If you mean green pistachio, then no. It's a pale teal color. This is the best hand mixer I've ever bought, even if the colors don't match.

What is the difference between a mixer, a whisk, and a dough hook? What are the intended combinations for each? Wet or dry? Cake/cookie/potato/butter/meringue/egg/whipped cream ?

Cakes, potatoes, and cookies are what I use the beaters for. The whisk is used to make omelets, meringue, and whipped cream out of egg whites. The dough hook is used to make bread, pretzels, and other similar items, but I also use it to make pasta dough on occasion. I hope this has been of assistance in some way.

Beaters are made with shoddy craftsmanship
3/5

My wife bakes a lot, so I bought this mixer to help her. She was going through hand mixers like they were going out of style. The motors were simply unable to handle the load and would eventually burn out. We bought this mixer for her, and she was blown away by the motor's strength; it could easily cut through even the thickest cookie doughs. The spot weld at the tip that connects the two pieces of beater together broke after the third use, but it was still usable. She drove them for another six months before a weld at the base of the beater failed, rendering the vehicle useless. Kitchenaid makes a great mixer, but their beaters are terrible. I bought a $10 Proctor Silex mixer, and those beaters fit it perfectly and are made to last. As I previously stated, the mixer itself is fantastic, but the beaters could use some improvement.

Finally, a hand mixer with a low enough speed to avoid sprinkling flour all over the place! Finally, a hand mixer with a low enough speed to avoid sprinkling flour all over the place! br>br>My mother still has her old mixer from her adolescent years
5/5

It slowly incorporates the dry ingredients when set to the slowest setting. However, every modern mixer I'd purchased had such high speeds that even the lowest setting would simply blow the flour out of the bowl, causing a massive mess. The turbo boosts were never needed at higher speeds! It was always a pain for me to use this because I couldn't seem to find a bowl tall enough to fit everything in. br>br>However, the slow setting on this mixer is actually quite slow. Without making a huge mess, I can gently combine the wet and dry ingredients. So far, I've only used it a few times, so I can't comment on its durability, but I'm very pleased with it. When you need to set it down, it balances nicely on its end, and it's a lovely color. br>br>I was disappointed to learn that other models came with extra attachments when I looked through the manual, but after doing some research, it appears that those extra attachments, which can be purchased separately, are also compatible with this mixer. I felt confident that this was the right model for me because these beaters can be used for almost anything, and I figured I'd save money by not paying for the extra attachments unless I actually needed them in the future.

BEATERS MADE OF REAL STAINLESS STEEL
5/5

Chrome-coated "so-called stainless steel beaters" were used in the mixer I replaced (another brand). You might wonder why this mattered so much. Because the chrome rusted and shattered in our food. I'm 71 years old, and I'm not going to replace junk with junk because I don't have time! This mixer is absolutely incredible. Slow on the first speed, doesn't splatter, and beats egg whites just as well as my stand-alone KA mixer. Let me explain what I mean by "beats egg whites. " In my old mixer, I used to beat egg whites. The KA whips the whites (WHIPS I TELL YA) resulting in a HUGE visible difference in volume, much more fluffy. I was astounded at my young age! When my husband was eating his favorite Tapioca Cream (pudding), he immediately noticed a difference, much more fluffyness, and he was pleased, as was I.

Experience with Love and Hate My first Kitchenaid handheld mixer was a fantastic piece of equipment that lasted for seven years
3/5

I bought the new digital version when the old one died. With unbalanced beaters flinging food all over the place, it was a disaster. After a year, one of the entry holes for the beaters would not allow the beater to click into it, so I gave up on that one. In the entry hole, there is a broken piece of plastic. br>br>I made the decision to give Kitchenaid another chance. I went back to the 5 speed manual model because it was easier to use. I was ecstatic because it worked just like my old one. Then, after a year of use, the same issue with the entry hole arose. A piece of plastic has broken. The Beater was unable to fit into the gap. A perfectly good unit that ended up in the trash. br>br>Warning to the buyer: If you choose this path, you will have to buy one of these every year, year after year.

After only 6 months, I was broke! Because I don't want to sacrifice counter space, I prefer hand-held mixers
3/5

After 20 years, my Black and Decker mixer finally gave up the ghost. I decided to upgrade and purchased a Cuisinart, but the slow speed splattered dry ingredients all over the kitchen. It's a complete disaster! Then it stopped working after a few months. What a shock! I ordered the KitchenAid on Amazon because I needed one right away and figured KitchenAid was a good brand; I've had it for 6 months and used it about once a week since then. It broke just moments ago while I was baking cookies! It refused to switch off or change speeds. I could hear something rattling inside, and I couldn't understand how these "better brands" could produce such dreadful goods. Where did America's quality go? I'm in a bad mood.

It was a quick break
3/5

The power button and the ability to change speeds stopped working after a few uses. The switch simply slides back and forth and is always "on," so I have to plug it in to start it and unplug it to turn it off, which creates quite a mess because I can't begin beating ingredients slowly. I'm going to buy another mixer and take the plunge. It was a huge let down. That's what I get for selecting an appliance solely on the basis of its attractive color.

This is a fantastic little mixer
5/5

I waited over a year to write a review after purchasing this mixer (in September 2019) because I wanted to make sure the product continued to perform after my initial delight. This mixer does, in fact, stand up to the test of time. There was no rust, no problems with the beaters, and no power issues. It's simple to clean, has excellent speed settings, and performs well. Of course, if you bake twice a week, you might want to spend a little more money on a more durable mixer. This mixer is ideal for my needs, which entails baking once or twice a month.

KitchenAid is a household name, and who doesn't like it? I already own a countertop standing mixer, so I purchased this for my second home to avoid breaking my wrist while mixing by hand; it is light, comfortable, powerful, and the color is lovely
