Since I don't do a lot of cooking, I suddenly needed a mixer after I baked some things for friends last week (my hand mixer only worked for chopping after it lost some attachments in a move). This mixer helped me bake a cake, top a topping, and make a couple other items, and I loved I like how neat it looks and how well it works. In fact, it only holds four of the five implements that come with it, but I won't really use the bread hooks anyway, so I just threw them In my opinion, as someone else said, there is no slow speed in this game. As the mixing speed goes from fast to REALLY REALLY fast, the mixer is not suitable for someone who needs something with a gentle mix.
As a result of damage to my mixer, I am not able to answer these questions. It arrived in this manner, so I'm worried the quality won't be as good as it should be. As of right now, I'm 0 for 2 when it comes to mixing! I am super disappointed.
Having all these extra attachments and the stand that this mixer sits on make it a great mixer. I'd like it to be a little bit stronger. Despite the apparent disparity in low and high speeds, there is no significant difference between them. The dough hooks are ideal for stiff breads and cookie doughs, but I did get this appliance to work with soft doughs, also. In addition to whipping egg whites and pancake batter, I also like the whisk attachment. It is an excellent value for the price.
We found that replacement beaters were more expensive and received poor reviews, so bought a new unit that was much less expensive. It turned out that the beaters and other utensils from this mixer fit and work with my Cuisinart, so it's a win-win. Having two great hand mixers has made my life a lot easier.

As I ordered it for a diy project, the only reason I gave it only four stars is because the lowest setting was too powerful for what I had to whip up, but I got the job done anyway. A lot of stuff splattered all over the bowl as the bowl shook. It's a good deal for the price, though.
