I used to have only two speeds on my other stainless steel kitchen mixer. It now has four speeds. I have not experienced any problems with it thus far, because it's easy to clean. Not much time has been spent on this yet. As far as I can see, everything seems to work fine. My only concern is that the bottom is rounded, so the unit rocks a lot and threatens to fall over unless it is set It makes sense why a hand mixer would not lie flat on that side. I haven't tried it yet, however it is pretty light weight and has a lot of different speeds. I made cookies to test it out and they came out great! In addition to the compact size, it can also be taken on the go. The controls are easy to use and the extra accessories are useful. It looks nice in the picture, but upon receipt I realized that the lever for controlling the speed was located right in the middle of the handle. The speed control on the mixer would have to be covered up in order to do news with it securely in hand. My opinion is that that flaw is a major issue.
