My nationality is Venezuela, and I have used other Arepa Makers previously. I find Oyster the best brand the Teflon does not scratch and the shell is sturdy. IMUSA arepas are made quickly and are of a medium width with this arepa maker. In addition, the timer is not optimal, doesn't have any sound to indicate when arepas are done, and does not have a reliable light. Hence, you should periodically open it up to see if there are any scratches on the Teflon.
