There is a surface area of 200 square inches, which is much larger than other devices. Cooking is done on a non-stick surface made out of die casting Stick to it. I found it to be the best value at $50. Besides the third one I will be buying for my daughter's birthday party and the one I bought to host at home for those who would like to have larger gatherings. The first raclette we bought was metal like a cookie sheet and we packed it back immediately due to the thin cooking surface. There is heavy die-cutting on this one Designed to endure and last for a long time. Several people were concerned about the raclette reaching a sufficiently hot temperature in the reviews I read. This raclette grill is amazing. Our food did not stick to it at all we grilled steak, chicken, salmon, and vegetables on it. This raclette set also has 8 little cheese pans, so you can host a big bash to enjoy this tasty tradition! This is a great book. I really recommend.

am not sure if I got a bad unit, but the grill was nowhere close to hot enough to cook anything apart from heating up meat. It was said that the shrimp were "slow cooked" after 20 minutes, but there was no roasting involved. It was just a very slow process of drying the chicken and beef. It's the same with vegetables, onions, mushrooms, and peppers become soft when they are heated up. As a result, we had to use a stove and pan. Cheese can be melted with it.

Only problem is the length of the power cord, which seems to be overly long for such a small device! Is it normal for a power outlet to be placed directly in the middle of a dining room There's no one, is there? It is almost guaranteed that you will need an extension cord, unless your table has a power outlet right in the middle.

Overall, it is a solid product. For the cheese to melt, I must turn this almost all the way up to high. Then it gets HOT once it starts to get hot. The first time I used the grill this week was to cook steak, which was a great success. After it has cooled down, you can easily remove the top plate to wash it. Nice buy at a decent price. I almost gave it a 5 star rating due to its quality. Despite that, I wish the heating elements were positioned lower in order to melt the cheese faster. The US does not seem to have access to Raclette cheese normally, and one needs to wait until winter to find it. What if you have a Kroger (Smith's in some areas? ). They sell it in the section for specialty cheeses. As an alternative, Sam's Club and Costco sell a European cheese sampler tray which includes little slices of various cheeses. The fontina and gruyere especially work well. All in all, I'm very happy with this grill and welcome the opportunity to use it for many years to come!.

My husband and I used it New Year's Eve after receiving this as a Christmas present. It is a problem since the bottom of the machine doesn't heat up, so the only heat source is under the top plate itself. As a result, the cheese melted slowly, everything else took a very long time even at maximum temperature to cook and melt. There were also only 4 slots in the middle that worked reasonably well, while the 4 slots in each corner In regard to its ease of cleaning, it gets a four-star rating, but for everything else, it gets a one- to two-star rating. Don't forget to use a heavy-gauge extension cord. The first one we tried got very hot to the point where we couldn't handle If our table had been burned, it would have been devastating.
