Questions & Answers

There is a difference between the various lines (Stelvio versus A classic versus a modern method of planning. This is a battle between Eiger and Eisen. Is it gourmet)?

Swissmar in NY told me that was not the case, as I also wondered about that myself. Upon enquiring whether there were a ranking or hierarchy of the products, I was informed that there were no categories based on quality. There are differences between the two "premium" packages. Among the differences are its color (stainless, black, or red), its size (4 or 8 trays), and whether it has a granite or stainless top. Thank you for your help.

Are detergent and water safe to use on Granite Stone? If it's like my stoneware that can't be washed, this might be a good match. ?

A soap and water solution is all that is needed to clean our granite counter tops Essentially, water is. It works quite well, but you may want to let it cool down first. Also, we found it helpful to allow plenty of time for the stone to heat up.

The granite top seems thick enough, but how thick is it?

Thickness of about an inch

Can you tell me where this product is Thanks so much! ?

It is not indicated where it was manufactured on the box or in the instruction manual. It's not my area of expertise, so I am sorry if I cannot assist.

I found the purchase to be disappointing
3/5

Since moving back to the US 5 years ago, we have missed one of our favorite ways to spend time with our families camping in the mountains. There is nothing more exciting than grilling over stone. As a result of reading numerous positive reviews on the Swissmar grill, we decided to purchase it the day it arrived and use it immediately. I was rather disappointed with my experience. There is no way you can eat food with 8 people on the grill despite it coming with 8 pans. It might be possible to use up to 11 percent of the stone surface With a surface 12 inches wide, this is a great place for four people to sit. In a group of six people, an area of 15 inches would be ideal, and for eight people a surface of 18 inches or more would be ideal This is a 20-inch screen. A stone grill gets pretty warm, but you cannot get it hot enough to sear what you want from it. Instead of employing a thermostat that measures the actual temperature of the stone, the heating element appears to cycle on and off based on a timer. There is a possibility that the lack of heat has something to do with the granite being used instead of the lava stone, and it is only an inch thick, which is not thick enough In order to clean it, one must scrape the surface of the stone with scrapers because the brackets supporting the stone are very thin metal plates, causing the stone to move a lot. The plastic scrapers appear to serve a purpose but are deemed a questionable compromise that makes cleaning easier after. Lastly, the grill comes with 8 plastic scrapers that can be used in the pans to prevent damaging them. There is a sticky coating on the surface. Although there is no metal scraper included to clean the stone, it is convenient to do so With the plastic scrapers, you won't get much use out of them, so either you need to buy a separate scraper, or grill the food with the charred remains of the I found the overall experience to be disappointing.

Made in China by Swissmar

We've had a Swissmar Raclette grill for over ten years and it was time to replace it with a newer model. The new grill looked good in the box, but when it was opened we were disappointed to see that the craftsmanship was not nearly as good as the older model. When it came to grill pans, for instance, the old model was pretty durable and well-made In the newer model (square-shaped), they are made of very thin and flimsy materials. Aside from that, the older version had a much lower price but much better quality than the newer model.

I like raclette on the In this case, it melts the cheese, so it does what it should
4/5

Whether cooking on top is a good idea, I am not sure. There's some heat from the top, but it takes quite a while before it gets hot. As for raclette, it works well. In addition to the 8 pans, there is also space for 6 utensils (most others have only 6 spots), which is great for bigger dinner parties. There is a problem with the cord, so if you don't have a grounded extension cord, order one online. When I first got my racket, it was a 240v grill, and it worked well. I have had other 120v grills over the years, but none were as good as this one. Even though this unit is 120v, it works just as well as my 240v original. The unit I have so far found to be the best 120v unit. As you can see, the heating elements are closer to the pans than most other units, and the element is exposed, which results in a greater amount of heat being concentrated Raclette fans will like this grill, especially if they enjoy raclette cheese.

Had a good time and broke at the end
3/5

It was easy to set up. I use this unit probably just once or twice a month. We've had it for two years now. It seems to work fine. There is only a knob at the top of the heating element to control the temperature. The stone was never at a sizzling temperature so we never turned it off on the max setting. It isn't really able to recover its heat after the first items are on. The second thing I don't understand is why the marble slab doesn't touch the heating element. In between there is about 1/4" of space, and it looks like that is just a space for heat to escape. am not sure if the marble will hold up to direct contact with elements, but considering that it is stone, it would seem like it would. Cleaning was not an issue for us. Usually, the stone was just left to cool overnight and then cleaned in the sink with soap and water the next morning. As far as scraping food goes, it doesn't seem to be This is definitely a size that can accommodate no more than four people at the same time. I had dried the slab with a towel for two years when suddenly it snapped in half. didn't drop it and handled it gently when setting up and taking it down.

The concept is great, but it does not address the questions of how to manage oil or meat juice when cooking
5/5

Since I thought the granite top and cast aluminum cooktop were all in one package, I ordered the cooktop separately. Buying the cast aluminum cooktop will cost you $60. I have had good results with the granite top, however the cooking oil and fat go everywhere there is no drip pan. The cast aluminum pan holds the oils until it overflows at some point too, is this correct? The lack of a drip pan has made me concerned about the quality of the coil itself, because it is not protected by any type of drip pan.

I loved the dinner I had that evening! What a great idea! Considering the thinness of the pans that melt the cheese, the granite top is the way to go
4/5

I have used both and both are easy to clean, and it heats nicely and cooks food better and more evenly than a Teflon top (I have As of now, I have the eight person system, which I find useful only for four people The grill at the top is too crowded, so we can only fit 5 people. It would be better if the cord were The extension cord looks tacky, so we have to use it. Our winter evenings can be filled with fun as we “cook” around it with our families.

The dish on the menu is raclette
5/5

This is awesomeness! I have not yet used it The Swiss have the same brand with a metal grill as we do, so we had to refresh our knowledge with them. It has been said that Swiss people buy this stone because it is far superior to anything else on the market. There are little spatulas included in the package.

To make meal preparation easier, prep your food in advance
5/5

Dining with friends is a great way to spend time together. It is everyone's right to prepare their food as they see fit. I've tried it a few times and can tell you that it is best to prepare your food ahead of time by slicing meats and veggies into small pieces. The cookbook was also purchased, and I found that just about anything can be used as a raclette filling. My favorite part? It gives everyone an opportunity to talk and be a part of.
