I'm mostly pleased with the fact that the quality is far superior to what I had anticipated. I don't usually buy ceramic dishes because they're too heavy and feel cheap, as if they'll break easily. These are Berger in weight and thickness, and the colors and glaze are of high quality. I'm in love with my new plates, and just looking at them makes me happy!.

Beware! These become scorching hot after just a few minutes in the microwave! I try to use them sparingly these days, but I keep an oven mitt on hand in case I need to re-heat something. Anything can be heated. It's stunning! My new dinnerware is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are vibrant, and they give my kitchen and dinner table a new lease on life. I liked them so much that after buying the 16-piece set, I returned to buy more dinner plates and salad plates (saucers). Microwaving them is possible, but use caution. They get very hot, so use an oven mitt or avoid using the microwave; I don't know how well they do in the dishwasher because I do everything by hand. They're ideal for our needs, though.

These plates (and bowls, pasta bowls) have been in our possession for a little more than a year. They are prone to chipping - The rims on about half of them have a chip or two. Just wanted to let you know. It is up to those who are purchasing. Make sure they don't collide with any other dishes in the sink or in the dishwashing machine.

They appear to be more vibrant in person than in photos, with vibrant colors that aren't overdone. They're thick enough to feel substantial but thin enough to stack with ease. I also have the bowls and luncheon plates, and they're a great set.

So I purchased these plates and put them away for a while. They performed admirably in the dishwasher for the first two or three times, but then began to chip almost immediately. Small pieces of plates and bowls break off in large chunks. You won't be able to use these for more than a few months. I read other reviews and assumed that the people who wrote them weren't being careful enough or that their dishwashers were defective. It will not only happen to you, but it will also happen to other people. If you don't mind replacing them every few months, you should skip these.

As a result, I am completely enamored with these plates. I like how vibrant the colors and pattern are. I'm afraid I can't say they're very long-lasting. One of my lovely plates chipped a few weeks after I bought it. Such a letdown. I intended to purchase a second set in the future.
