The cap has no seal function; it's sole purpose is to trap heat and keep it warm, not to keep liquids sealed. As a result, I wouldn't recommend it as a travel mug. Tealyra, on the other hand, makes a travel mug; I haven't seen it on Amazon, but it is listed on their website, and it is a good travel mug.
China is where it's made.
Yes, but I've also noticed it in other kinds of products. It's possible that the dyes used or the difficulty in obtaining specific colorations are to blame.
There isn't even a gasket to speak of. Also, do not put the tea strainer in the dishwasher; instead, hand-wash it.

I bought a green one for my fiancée and a yellow one for myself because the cup is fantastic! The cup's lid isn't designed to be carried around or used for traveling. It's just a cover to keep the tea hot while it steeps. It keeps the tea hot for a long time, and I like the look of it. This is my favorite cup to drink from!.
Yellow is a fantastic color. When hand washing before first use, the strainer broke apart, with the ring at the top and the basket at the bottom separated! Weld points appear to have been completely overlooked.
It is made of high-quality (durable) materials and comes in three simple parts. It should be neither too heavy nor too light (flimsy). Because I'm the only one who uses this mug, I simply rinse it, empty the tea from the basket, and flush it for a few seconds to dislodge any remaining tea. The ceramic top doubles as a basket holder and is simple to clean, requiring only a quick rinse most of the time. Most days, I make a pitcher of tea, but for caffeinated teas, this mug is the perfect size, and the price is very reasonable at $18. This mug is a fantastic deal at only 99 cents. I've paid a lot more for a brand that wasn't even close to being as good as this one. This mug is one of my favorites. I'll be buying more of this make and model in the future because it's ergonomic, practical, and affordable. As far as I'm aware, there is no monetary benefit to me for writing this review. This is an excellent item.
I used to have to wait 5 minutes in the break room for it to steep, or I'd have to take it back to my desk and then go back to clean my mesh infuser. With the handy lid, I don't have to worry about sloshing and burning my hands while walking (meaning I can fill it up all the way), and the lid also serves as a handy coaster for the infuser until it's time to clean it. It is, without a doubt, the best choice for a hectic workday.
Over the last year, I've placed three orders: The company had stopped manufacturing these with a gasket around the filter basket that made it fit very securely into the cup and helped seal in the heat while the tea was brewing by the time I ordered one for my husband; by the time I ordered the one for my husband, the company had stopped manufacturing these with a gasket around the filter basket that made it fit very securely into the cup and helped seal in the heat while the tea was brewing. When I first noticed the missing gasket, I assumed it was a one-time occurrence, a mistake on this particular unit. However, I soon discovered that our two filter baskets - one with the rubber gasket and one without it - are not interchangeable between the two mugs, despite the fact that they *appear* to be identical: The filter basket with the gasket will not fit into the new mug because the opening is slightly narrower. As a result, it's clear that the change was made on purpose. br>br>If I hadn't gotten one of these mugs with the gasket, I'm not sure I'd miss the gasket if I had an Ed filter basket. But, if I had to choose between the one with and the one without, I'd go with the one with, if only because of the high-quality materials. When you push the filter basket down and feel it firmly seal the opening, you'll know you've reached the top of the quality scale. It's similar to the distinction between kitchen canisters with and without gaskets. It's just that the ones who have have a better feeling. br>br>Aside from that, it's a fantastic mug. The filter basket is extremely effective. It's a lot easier to clean than the infuser ball we previously used. The mug holds a lot of liquid. My tea never lasts long enough for me to finish it. I always have a full stomach before the mug is empty, lol. br>The handle is comfortable, and the mug feels good in your hand. br>br>One feature that I especially like is that when the lid is sat upside down on the table, it perfectly holds the filter basket when you remove it from the mug, so you don't have to run back to the sink to set it down, or wait near the sink until your tea is finished brewing; You can take the entire mug with you - while the tea in the filter is brewing - a cup of tea Remove the lid, turn it over, and sit it down in the drinking spot, and then remove the filter basket and sit it down in the lid when the brewing is finished. There's no muss, no fuss, and it's very convenient. br>br>Had the gasket not been removed, I would have given this mug 5 stars!.
This is about as perfect as it gets if you're used to putting a teabag in a cup for your tea but want to try upgrading to loose leaf tea. br>br>All you have to do is place the little basket in the cup, fill it with boiling water as usual, cover it (or not) and leave it to steep as usual, then remove the little basket and the tea is ready to drink. A quick toss of the basket into the garbage is all that is required. a quick rinse It's all set to go once more. It's a lot easier than dealing with other types of suspended leaf holders. br>br> br>br>It's also great if you want to make your own teas with whole leaves and larger natural ingredients because you can just toss them in the basket and try out different combinations. br>br>This would make a wonderful gift for yourself or anyone else who enjoys tea.
I've tried a lot of loose tea brewing mugs, and this is by far my favorite; I bought one, and it arrived at my office the next day. It holds more than 12 ounces of tea, is well-made, and keeps tea hot for a long time. When you hold it, it feels like a true "comfort mug. " It's designed to stay in place while you sip your tea. This isn't a travel mug by any stretch of the imagination. The lid can be used to store your brewer basket, but I never do. I move around a lot in my office, so I always close the lid to keep my tea hot when I leave my desk. I had to buy two more so that I could have one at home for myself and one to share with a tea-drinking companion. a caring friend I have one blue, one teal, and one teal that I am giving to a friend. Each and every one of the colors is lovely. Because it's such a large mug, I usually use two tea bags to brew my tea. Another plus is that, despite its size, it still fits my Kurig, allowing me to get to my morning tea quickly. Cleaning the basket, however, requires caution. The basket is made of stainless steel that has been machine cut, and some of the edges are razor-sharp. Keep a safe distance from your infants, both small and large. I invert the basket of wet tea leaves over a small mug to dry them out a little before tapping as many leaves as I can out of it. Then I rinse the rest of the food scraps into the sink and let the sink food scrap catcher take care of the rest. I gave it a quick pat on the outside with a paper towel before letting it air dry. I know it appears to be a lot of work, but the basket serves its purpose and looks brand new.
