As a result, excessive burrs are created on the "down stroke" of the belt
3/5

Removes far too much material and causes excessive burrs on the "down stroke" of the belt. It takes a great deal of effort to work If it's not done right, your high-performance computer will be destroyed We have quality knives (and cheap ones as well). After returning it, I replaced it with a ceramic rod sharpener with similar pricing. The method is so easy that I can do it while watching television. With very little material removed, it produces a far better edge.

I think it works pretty well and does the job for working men
5/5

It took me a while to get used to this knife sharpener, but it does an outstanding job. It may seem like an unattainable goal, but if you are a knife collector and own a lot of expensive knives, then you should be careful about scratching or denting them. Those who do not fit this category should not attempt it. ONE of the Best Knife Sharpeners for people who work with knives every day or use them often on a daily basis and want a fast sharpening. My opinion is that it is perfect for and recommend to hunters, fishermen, contractors, chefs, butchers, and so on. After you have run the knife five times on each side, it is ready for cutting. After sharpening my Benchmade 556 for the first time, I ran a test to see if it could shave arm hair. It did not sharpen the knife to manufacturer's specs as quickly as when I bought it brand new and it was factory sharp, but for getting the job done and finally starting to work, it was very helpful. In case of need, I purchased some extra sharpener belts as well. It has not had to be replaced so far after 2 weeks of use. Sharpen your knives when you are sharpening them. You should not push the knife hard on the belt, keep it steady and pass it at a speed of 1 inch per second. It might help a little bit if you read this.

Invest in something that is worth it! Don't throw away your hard-earned cash! My entire life has been dedicated to collecting knives
3/5

I have used a wet stone, a sharpening rod, and even a drill and sand paper to achieve sharp edges. Thus, when I saw this sharpener by Work Sharp, I thought, heck yes, we shall do this! My first step was to watch the instructional video as soon as I got the package. The user interface is extremely user friendly. There is nothing more complex than this and you could even train a monkey. As per the directions, I did one side, then the other, ensuring that each side was completed at the same rate. The first knife I used was a pocket knife with a 4" blade. Despite not being totally dull, the object was far from sharp. It took me five times on each side of the knife, and I then tried it. The two are the same. I suppose you'll just have to repeat it a few more times? Then I tried 10 times on each side. This is then multiplied by Last but not least, I tried thirty times. (other than adding some scratches to the side of the blade), there have been no changes to my knife. Spending $50 on meaningless junk seemed like a great idea at the time. A very, very disappointing experience. I can't believe how weak the motor is on this thing. If you lay your finger on the sand paper band while it is spinning, it will come to a complete stop without any effort on your part. There is no way to hide the fact that this model is a ripoff from Amazon. While the more expensive model may be great, I have no idea since I was not offered a chance to test it. My honest opinion is that this Combo Knife Sharpener will be a waste of $50 that My resentment over that is pretty deep.

The combo knife sharpener is intended to be used on a knife that has never been sharpened or that is very dull
5/5

It does not work on knives that have never been sharpened. It will not work on very dull knives or knives that have never been sharpened. Only a 220 grit sanding belt 1/2 x 10 inch is available for this unit. No other belts are available for this unit.

Knives can be sharpened using a sharpening stone
3/5

It cannot sharpen all knives due to the placement of the motor, pulleys, and the shape of the housing on this sharpener. In general, this works well for kitchen knives, however pocket knives with thumb studs will have a hard time actually adapting to the angle down by the base of the blade. A knife with a large finger guard will not fit properly either. Having the guard removed improves the performance slightly, but it's still not perfect. The reason that the more expensive ($70) version has the motor housing off to the side of the belt is to overcome this problem. When you have lots of different knives, it is recommended that you upgrade to that sharpener. You can use this to sharpen steak knives and chef knives on your counter for a nominal cost. On a positive note, they appear to have tuned the speed and power of the motor so that the blades are sharpened without overheating and losing their Besides that, belts are inexpensive and nice.

It's good enough for knives used in the workplace
4/5

In contrast to the regular work sharpener, this only comes with one belt. It works OK only on knives you don't care about mistreating you can only get so sharp with this belt. If the belt could have been made finer, this would be an excellent purchase. This belt will only make the knife sharp enough, so if you have the regular or Ken work sharp knives, or if you want a really sharp knife, do not buy this belt.

The relationship has lasted three years, but it still hasn't impressed me
3/5

The intent of this review isn't to review hunting knives, since I don't have a bunch of them around the house. When it comes to kitchen knives, I love sharp ones for both food preparation and eating. Prior to this I used a cheap stone wheel sharpener from Presto. Even though I assumed that more money would result in sharper knives, I thought that that easy to use device always made sharp knives Then I realized what I had done. Sharpening knives with this sharpener is a miserable experience because you end up spending a lot on it for not much use. As I have already stated, I sharpened a number of knives on the Presto and found it provided a much sharper edge. I only put this sentence down now, because I already knew I would not like this unit. So far, I have used it only 5 times or less since Dec 2017. As I looked at it on the kitchen shelf this morning, I decided that I should either use it, or throw it out. Having just completed a test this morning, I'm going to throw out the useless device. I recommend you don't waste your money on this sharpener you can find a better one on Amazon for less than half the cost, and you don't need to buy a belt to use it.

This is an easy-to-use compact device
5/5

We received the unit in good condition, I ordered extra belts in various grits, and used the belt that came with the unit on all of our kitchen knives, then switched to a higher grit to sharpen the edges, This is for only The product is small and compact, and it's easy to replace the belt. It also auto-aligns. I have tried several sharpeners and I find this one to be perfect for my needs. This is an ideal sharpener if you are looking for a small compact unit. Great for your.
