Questions & Answers

Do these blades get sharpened if they are used in sausage and cheese delis?

The Sharpener is for sharpening knives from Rada that do not have a brass blade A serrated line. Other brands of knives have been used with them by my customers. But there's no serration on it

Is this sharpener compatible with knives that are not Rada brand?

"YES!" is what I would say! The blade should not be serrated, as long as it is not a knife. On all my knives, I use them and they work You need to be careful because they get really

If it sharpens this karambit without damaging the blade, Visit the website. The Amazon website. How about gp/product/B00OY80OPA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2? IE=UTF8 and PSC=1?

For sharpening my karambit, I use this tool. The sharpener I have found to work best with a karambit is this one followed by using the bottom of an old coffee cup as my holding surface. By doing so, you sharpen the blade quite a bit.

It can be used to sharpen a kabar. ?

It is a straight edge if it is K It should be possible for you to do so through the bar. There would be no way to sharpen the serrated edge that is a combination of straight and serrated

Selected User Reviews For Rada Cutlery Quick Edge Knife Sharpener – Stainless Steel Wheels Made in the USA

I would classify this as good rather than What you pay for is what you get and in this case, it was a little bit more than what you paid When using a leather strop afterward, you really help to save the edge from rolling into a burr
4/5

In the pictures, the edges are visible because I've zoomed in to 1000x (to be put in perspective, a ball in a ball point pen would fill half the picture). It seems that I can't get the burr off too easily on harder steels for whatever reason (I guess I'm just useless). The results are much better now, but I can't honestly say the system is 10x better (reflecting the price difference). Since then, I've purchased a system that uses stones that gradually get finer, and the results are much better. However, this product can restore the function of an otherwise dull blade and make it suitable for almost all tasks that you do on a daily basis. It won't be shaving or cutting up card stock but it will have you cutting up cardboard with little effort.

For those who just want a blade sharp enough to use again without a lot of effort and investment I would suggest this product. If you want better results, purchase or make a leather strop and apply some finishing polish to remove burrs.

It sharpens my knives better than all the others I've tried! As I have been using this for a while now, I have adapted to leaving it near the dishwasher so that when I put my knives in the drawer, I can give them a final inspection before placing them
5/5

I have used it a few times because a couple of very dull blades have been brought back to life, and all the time I enjoy having a sharp bladed knife in my hands. I have other knife sharpeners, but they are merely gathering dust while I use this one. As a result, I reached out to the company with a question and they responded right away, which I found to be refreshing and thought to be a sign that their products are worth their reputation. My five-star rating is based on the fact that it performed my task (knife sharpening) and it exceeded all my other knife sharpeners so much that I now use only this unit.

Providing your knife with a sharp edge is one of the benefits of this product
5/5

If you want to cut the hair on your arm, that's fine. In fact, I have been sharpening knives for the better part of my life. I'm 61 years old and used to sit at my father's feet and sharpen his knives using a flat stone. Despite my best efforts, I will never be able to get them as sharp as this little product does. After you sharpen it I use a strop afterward to remove any burrs. You can do 4 or 5 swipes with this product. The most amazing thing ever. My dad's knives were sharpened by me when I was a teenager, and I wish I could have earned an hourly wage.

This tool is easy to use, cheap, and incredibly effective
5/5

I bought this to sharpen some angled broadheads that would have been nearly impossible to sharpen on a regular After just a few minutes, all my knives were razor sharp, and I went through all of my kitchen knives in no time flat. There are reviews complaining about the wobbling disks, but these reviews seem to miss that this is the genius of the sharpener that makes it possible to form the "V" channel that shapes To remove material from severely dull knives you should use a bit of downward pressure in the beginning, and then the pressure should be eased as you feel the sliding resistance decreasing. With a sharp knife, you should feel as if it has no vibration while wedging through the wheels.

Sharpen knives with this awesome minimalist knife sharpener
5/5

I am throwing away my abrasive sharpeners. It's a really cool thing! This technique allows knives to be razor sharp after only a few Each time you pass, you can even see the metal shavings on the base. Because the wheels can be turned on the sharpening surface, they do not wear out as quickly as the abrasive V types. That's much better than what my mom had as a kid, a 4 wheeled sharpener. You can't go wrong with a double wheel design. If you would like to keep the sharpening edge from forming a groove, turn the wheels a little bit with your finger every couple of passes. Furthermore, ensure you sharpen at the correct angle and in the right direction, otherwise, you will not get the desired results. When you are pulling back the blade, you need the logo or label to face you. It has been my observation that there are a few people here of less than stellar intelligence who claim that it does not work. The reason for that is that their minds don't understand basic mechanics, and that is why they are unable to compute. It is physically impossible for it not to work amazingly well if used properly by pulling the knife backward at an angle where the blade is lower than the handle. It's probably one of the best sharpeners out there, which is crazy, given that it's so simple and affordable.

Keeping it simple is the best approach
4/5

The whole experience was pleasantly surprising. There have been several knives I've had for years that have been just stored away due to the difficulty of getting a workable edge. It took about six minutes to get them through it I used them seven times and now they are fully functional. you're looking for a $5 sharpener that will leave you with a razor-sharp edge, you won't find it here. In comparison, this little unit is a great choice if you need something that is easily stored and can become a useful edge in less than a minute. It is quite simple, too. As it is usually the case The best approach is to keep it simple.

It's that easy
5/5

The solution is both effective and affordable. This sharpener is the best I've ever used. It's like holy When it comes to sharpening my knives, I've used whetstones to electric grinders, but this is my selected tool! This is my go-to recipe in a large catering kitchen at a major university because it is both quick to make and satisfying Keeping my knives sharp is an important part of my daily routine. Even though it was so simple, I was skeptical about it, but I took the chance after reading the many positive The fact that this thing is so effective is quite astounding! I have tried lots of other methods, but this one does a better job! Keeping the burrs off and keeping an edge is still done with a ceramic honing rod, but this is all that's required. Just follow the instructions included and you'll be amazed at what you'll find! In order for me to be happy with this knife, the only modification I would like to see is some pads on the bottom to prevent slipping on smooth surfaces and a better hand-hold and baffle to better protect your hand if the knife slips.

I couldn't believe what I saw
5/5

The KitchenIQ 50009 Edge Grip is already in my possession. Amazing! I can't believe it! I tested it on all straight edge kitchen knives and it worked. My grinding wheels didn't cut into CrMolly Chinese cleaver, and I suppose that's because the wheels are not designed to cut into My favorite part of the day was sharpening all the knives in the drawer then using them to make paper confetti. With any other sharpener, it would never be possible for me to achieve that. You'd be surprised to know that I've tried quite a few In my opinion, the only improvement that could be made is to have sticky silicon rubber strips on the bottom.
