Questions & Answers

It is possible to obtain the Mercer culinary ultimate white 11-oz Is it possible to sharpen the wavy edge on the inch slicer?

That's a given! It is not possible to use a traditional whetstone. It is possible to sharpen any knife, you just have to have the correct tools. It's easy to find them on Amazon just search for a serrated edge sharpener.

In what ways does this blade differ from the Genesis series?

In other words, these blades are meant to be used for crushing bones and quartering carcasses and they are designed for tough tasks. This is the type of knife you want to use when you need one you can depend on working on a line. In order to make fine cuts and to be sophisticated, you must use a higher quality blade, like the Genesis. It's evident from their sharper taper that these commercial blades are more cutting edge Since they don't have to feather all the way to the spine, they can save money by cutting the blade into segments instead. Eventually, that makes these knives invaluable in commercial kitchens, but it also makes them look cheap.

Are there any Chinese parts in it?

This product is made in Taiwan.

Has the tang of these knives been fully formed?

Featuring a 3/4 internal tang, the Ultimate White has a smooth, clean appearance

As good as the Victorinox, and better value for the money
4/5

As a knife, this comes close to being as good as the following Fyrox is the new icononox. The pickup truck of knives is your perfect knife if you're looking for one that will never let you down. The fibrox handle does not have bumps on it, although the texture of the Mercer handle actually encourages a firm grip more than the fibrox handle does. These knives are very similar, with the only difference being their grinds. Victorinox knives have a convex grind that never wedges and are quite thin behind the edge of the blade. As with the vast majority of house knives in any professional kitchen, the Mercer is hollow ground. The Swiss knife is more likely to wedge in cuts faster, but it will still do the job. When you are a home cook and will only have one knife, and plan not to sharpen it, maybe you should go for the For those familiar with the need to hone German steel and how it is done, it is the Mercer lines that offer the best value, with great ergonomics, great performance, and the right package to be used in commercial settings. Despite its low price, this knife is a great value and lets you re-edge it if you don't enjoy the hollow grounding. The bottom line is that I do not find any functional difference between this and the Victorinox. It is the value they provide that is the reason culinary schools use them. A set of knives that includes four of these knives and a honing steel, bread knife, and serrated knife would be very reasonable for the price of one fibrox. In addition to buying more for gifts, I have also purchased more. Often referred to as the pickup truck of knives, this tool is perfect for any task that would prevent you from using.

A resounding yes! Upon receiving this knife, I was immediately smitten with it
5/5

It's a little heftier than most commercial stamped knives, so I love that! There handle is wide, and its ribbed section is a great place for your thumb and fingers (if you hold it correctly). The blade is very sharp, so someone who has not used or been around knives for a while should be very cautious. Considering the price is so affordable, I love this product- The point is that it can be thrown away if it falls or if it gets dropped in a

There is no better knife on Earth than this
5/5

Cutco knives have been a part of my kitchen for many In any case, each knife costs between $100 and $200. After recently breaking off the tip of my $100 knife, my husband tried to use it as a screwdriver by using it as a paring knife. In order to keep up with his needs, I have been searching for a replacement at such a reduced cost that he can possibly lose it The moment I found this little knife on Amazon, I decided to give it a try, and my life has been forever I'm really impressed with this. This razor has a very smooth cut, very sharp teeth, and requires very little effort to cut. It also comes in a variety of colors and costs less than Cooking is one of my favorite pastimes. I usually prepare at least one home cooked meal once every couple of I consider knives to be a necessity in my house. This product was so great that I ordered two more just so I would have them on hand. Cutco is leaving, and Mercer is taking its place. In the future, I will not purchase any knives other than this brand.

Sharp to the point of being painful
5/5

I'm in awe of how sharp that is. The tool can easily slice through frozen meat, chicken bones, fingers, etc. Whether you're an expert chef or a mob boss trying to teach someone a lesson, it can be useful for everyone (except children). This tool doesn't care much about anything except slicing, and it does it.

This product is very good value for the price
5/5

In addition to my full-time job, I work part-time as a sous chef for a wedding/event venue. My work history includes full-time or part-time kitchen employment since high school (I am now 45 years old) and this great knife is no exception. I was told by the Chef De Cuisine I work for that if I leave it at the facility it becomes his knife and therefore his responsibility. With no problem, it is able to slice watermelons, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and potatoes by the pounds. You only need to hone the edge once you are done, then you are ready for the following There are 2 sets of Shun knives in my house (the Classic set stays at home and the Sora set goes to the shop) and this knife will fit right in next to them, plus I will not spend over $200 for a hand crafted Shun knife. In order to complete the set, I will be ordering the 12" big brother.

Is it true that nothing can be obtained for free? A paring knife that I had had for decades was somehow lost
5/5

Finding a replacement that was good quality and the right size was very difficult. It was on Amazon that I discovered this Mercer knife. This product was under $3 and very well reviewed, but its cost was low. There seems to be nothing to be concerned about. Top quality materials are used in its construction Our cutlery steel is of the highest quality and is delivered In terms of holding an edge, it does a good job. Taking the quality of an item and dividing it by its cost, value becomes The Mercer knives I tried were great, but if they're all as inexpensive as this little paring knife that was nearly free, then I would never recommend them.

A grade that meets budgetary needs
5/5

In a nutshell, There is a commercial component to this It was made to be used every day for the rest of your life. Blades made of stamped steel are softer. To keep your blade straight, it will need to be sharpened and honed regularly. Using this cutlery will not bring you fine dining pleasure. In a restaurant, butcher's shop, or food processing facility, you will find this knife. Where the boss supplies goods and tools, so that low wage workers who cannot afford to purchase better equipment do not have to worry about it. I consider it to be one of the best knives I have ever owned. Large jobs are no problem for this software. Yet still capable of serving as.

This is a great cookbook for home cooks
5/5

How much better is this knife than any of the others I own? There is no. Although it costs a little more, it is the best knife you will find for anywhere! I also have several more expensive knives, but there are some uses that I never use them for, so this is my first choice. With this blade, you can easily rewind blades and access an edge without removing blades from the blade Make it sharp. My blade would not chip if it ever did I would not cry like I would if I destroyed a costly knife. As it turns out, most of us are not professional chefs and do not need to invest hundreds of dollars on a knife which we wouldn't use much When it comes to knives, they are only as good as the person who uses A knife like this is perfect for everyday use in the home.
