As a response to your question, I am including a copy of the MAC knives website that I took directly from their website. According to the Professional Series, "Our most popular series, the Professional Series features an extremely An added bolster on the handle optimizes weight distribution and balance, as well as a 5mm blade for less wedging into cuts. The knives in this series are made from our Original steel, with the exception of the MSK-35 In addition to MTH-65 The company uses Superior steel in 80 of its products. In a Chef's grip, the combination of the heavy bolster and the thin blades provide these knives with excellent balance in the center of your hand The blade cuts through most foods easily with minimum effort, except for the MTH- type of foods. In terms of the Chef Series, the Chef Series has 2 components. Made from original molybdenum steel, these 5mm blades are made of a thin layer of 5mm. There are many traditional European shapes incorporated into these knives, and all of the handles are straight and have a pointed tip (in line with the spine of the blade). The light of the moon is attracted to the stars Since these knives are heavy and easy to use, almost any food can be cut quickly. Although the Professional Series is a little heavier, it is not a considerable weight difference. I feel that the Chef's knife is heavier towards the bearing end of the blade while the Professional knife is more balanced. Your question has been answered, I hope. I'd be happy to hear if you have any other questions. Thanks a lot! Having a meal at Creative Kitchen with Kyle
I did not receive a sheath with mine. In spite of that, though, it's an awesome

I was not satisfied with the quality. For decades, I have owned MAC knives in a variety of forms. I owned some of the best knives on earth, and they were reliable and easy to use. Almost a decade ago, I had a Chef's knife that lasted me. I was disappointed with this product since it isn't up to the same quality as previous Chef's Knives. I used it for the first time on the day that it started to rust. Following all written directions and cleaning and storing everything properly was of course my responsibility. There was never any rust on my older MAC knives. I was cutting fresh carrots about a week ago, and the tip of the blade broke right off. (This is about four weeks after using it for the first time. ) MAC knives were either defective or made of inferior materials compared to MAC knives in the past. It has been a very disappointing purchase for me.
As of now, I have not heard from them about my warranty claim. I will update this review if I hear back from them. UPDATED In the end, I was able to get in touch with the manufacturer, but the warranty didn't apply to my knife because the seller wasn't an authorized seller, even though I bought it on Amazon. It was DealMeister who was the seller. Despite the fact that the knife was not "real", it was wrapped and packaged like it was, including all of the usual instructions for care and warranty paperwork. Luckily, I complained to customer service and I got my money back (minus the shipping charge) after returning the knife to Amazon. It's a hassle to keep up with that!.
It was a great knife until it fell from counter height and broke into two halves. 17 days was all it took for me to use it.
My last position as sous chef ended a couple of weeks ago, so I am working as the kitchen manager of a a la minute bakery/bistro in As a treat to myself after working over 40 hours overtime during the first week I opened, I received this. The knife is my favorite in the kitchen. Nobody else in the kitchen is allowed to use For ten years I have used an incredible Wusthof knife, and didn't think I would ever enjoy another one as much, but this Mac is a sheer delight! Be sure to follow the care instructions in full. One of the sharpest blades you've ever handled is about to come into play. Take a look!.
Please join us! The truth is that one must own a GREAT knife before they can comprehend how most knives are truly not. This is the When we're in prep mode, an inch hollow edge knife makes pretty much every task feel like a knife through butter. While I do not profess to be a professional grade home cook, I say as much in my video review (if you can hear it), but I feel like one due to the consistency of the slices and the paper thinness. It is perfect even if it is overripe and rocky Making sushi, cutting up those hard veggies, trimming the fat from a roast with minimal waste - these are just a few of the chores we do around here. It is almost comical how well all of them are done with so little effort. Those who knew what a quality tool could do for you and your meals spent decades figuring out how to use it. It's, in fact, still taking me a while to realize that I don't need to use so much force when slicing, as you'll see in my video review and will almost certainly cause line cooks to sigh Is this the secret to success? Don't worry about it. Let the tool do it Just now I finished sliding my way through a whole salmon filet and after some practice I found that I got better results with a gentler touch. Break your bones, instead of smashing them in the face. The process of relearning might take a little time, but once you do you'll be glad you did. The proteins won't be mashed, the veggies will be arranged like a set of matchsticks, and the tenderloin looks like it belonged on the cover of Martha Stewart's Living magazine. In addition to that, it does everything. This is a reliable The following are some things that you should 1) Do NOT assume you can use this mighty steel like an everyday In my first attempt, I noticed a small divot from my thumb when I was slicing and dicing. I am especially careful when it comes to this. For now, invest in a cutting board until you become comfortable with its razor sharp edge It is important to wear gloves that are resistant. The answer is yes. Your whole body will feel and look crazy but all your appendages will remain intact, so, yeah, that's nice. *2a) Hand wash and thoroughly dry only. Say it again The hands must be washed by hand, then dried by hand. There is no stainless steel in this. There will be no problem spotting it. There will never be a dishwasher. Neither soak it in water nor let it sit for a long time. You don't have to throw away your expensive knives unless you like to. 2b) Wash the knife often, quickly, whenever you are working with citrus or tomatoes. This is a very Take care of it as if it were *2c) When hand washing, do not rely on the sponge to protect you from severe disease. The sponges are almost to my fingertips after I cut several of them up. That could go in a lot of directions, as I'm sure you can see. 1) Be sure to change the way you cut. That is huge. Your life is about to be changed. I was used to sawing straight down with a hollow edge Japanese knife. You won't find the same type of knife here, nor will you find a classic French or German chef's knife. Try it out and you'll save a considerable amount of hand fatigue, particularly when you're cooking during the holidays. 4) Lock up that thing. does not come with a block so by the time it arrives, you should invest in a sheath or a wall. This magnetic strip is mounted on your vehicle. Respect the knife. I was cutting with the knife lying on the cutting board, the sharp edge facing me, and I came within a few centimeters of You might be surprised what happens if your fingers happened to touch the unshielded ninja when digging in your drawer. It's my favorite. 5) I'm really happy about It was the first time I used it that I marveled at the translucent, glass-like color Getting even cuts was what I was experiencing. Speed is increased when the quality is high. It is faster to cook at home when you are fast. You can save money by cooking at home. You will probably save money even if you are balking at the price, because you will have to call for takeout less often.
I admire this knife. It is a wonderfully well-designed knife. Unfortunately, it needs to be handled with care. I cut my finger twice when using the razor normally (that is, not because I was As I wiped minced garlic off the side for the first time (a technique I used all the time before), I noticed that it was very slippery. Apparently, I made contact with the edge with one of my fingers. My second time was when I was cleaning my knife and got my finger caught again. The knife could completely sever a limb if it was a little too close to the edge, which is why I now start away from its edge. Whenever I use my razor I sharpen it before use, which I think is very helpful. It's important to me that no one other than me handles the item after each use, so I thoroughly clean, dry, and store For the reasons outlined above, I would never wash this in the sink with other dirty items. Obviously I'm not a trained chef, so this may be the right precaution to take when using any high quality sharp knife. I'm glad I spent the money on this instead of getting a set of knives. This knife should also be treated with respect and should not be used to open boxes or cut bones with its sharp edges. That would be a waste of such a beautiful tool, but I do like how easily I can slice onions and tomatoes with it.
The purchase of this set is my favorite of 2013. A quality knife for a reasonable price. I have never found a knife that matches what I look for in a knife. In addition to being well balanced, the cutter has a nice rock and is VERY sharp. This piece is so beautiful that I am so thankful for the investment. In addition to the sharpener, the company makes a great line of products, and I highly recommend them both. Having a knife that you are going to use so much will be convenient. You're the best, Mac! Thank you so much!.
BEWARE The knife shows signs of rust after just a month. Further, when the sink is used for washing, it scratches easily. My review on Amazon clearly shows that the stars I saw were purchased and not authentic. This is an overpriced cheap and low quality knife, after asking for a refund it took 2 weeks for me to receive it. I have been a prime member for years and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had.
