Questions & Answers

Do you think this knife will survive in the dishwasher?

The carbon in a good knife keeps it sharp better than steel, and that is why knives are good. The knives I use at my restaurant are Delter models. They are of the highest quality. You should always clean your good knives by hand with soap and water. If you need a sharpener, then buy one. Dishwasher soap and detergents degrade the carbon of the knife. You can buy a good one on Amazon.

Would it be possible for you to tell me which type of steel is used in your product? Does the steel have the 1095 HC designation? Irregular heartbeat, a semi-rhythmic heartbeat What type of stainless steel do you have, or does it differ from others?

What happens if the knife does not In order to stay sharp, what are the warranties?

It's inevitable that you will need to sharpen knives from time to time, as nothing stays sharp. In spite of what advertisements may claim. There is a $15 whether it is a debit or credit card. No matter if it's a $2000+ custom forged damascus knife or a $100 stamped blade like this, it will get dull with time. Depending on how sharp you like your knife, you will either have to send it out to a professional sharpener, or you will have to get an inexpensive stone, watch a few YouTube instructions videos, and learn how to sharpen it. This knife is a fantastic tool for learning how to use. The knife is inexpensive, gets very sharp very quickly, and holds an edge reasonably well. *br>There are knives that are more expensive that will keep their edge for longer, but there is a VERY long learning curve and they are less forgiving if they are damaged. I work in a professional kitchen, so I regularly use knives of this type.

Do you have anything to recommend for a butcher steel that can sharpen this? Until now, all of my sharpened blades were forged, but this one is stamped (more difficult Please accept my sincere thanks. ?

Chef's knife is in my kitchen and I use it for If using a carbide tool, it's as easy as taking a push or two to return the knife quick light-hearted Efficiency is achieved by cutting effort. This is a high-quality product Dexter uses carbon stainless alloy, (from Japan), which has a density that is similar to or better than forged so sharpness is not a problem. When it comes to edge longevity, flexibility is a problem. The chefs knife I own does not have that problem. It may be more difficult to sharpen a thinner boning or slicing knife on a stone, but the boning knife I own does not have that problem. In addition to Henckels forged knives, I also use a few others.

There's no denying the quality of this knife
5/5

Whenever I need a knife for my job, I use Dexter knives. The one I got for my mother was sharpened by a 'professional' as she believes knives should be sharpened only by professionals. My sharpening for her is done once a year, and she always has sharp tools at all times.

In addition to this knife, I have the Mercer 8" hollow ground cook's knife, whose handle fits my larger hands However, I think the blade on the Dexter knife is better than the one on the Victorinox.

Get a feel for the product before you buy

Give a pair of these a go before you go out and buy a bunch of expensive knives. The Dexter knife is the fourth I've owned, and though I'm no knife expert, I recommend them for any situation.

That's a very good idea
5/5

The product has only been in my possession for a few days, and I've used it several times so far. I like how it feels and how sharp it is. There is no bending of the blade. For now, I can only tell you that much. When I encounter any problems with it, I will be sure to let you know. It was shipped in a very short period of time and at a reasonable price.
