Questions & Answers

My experience recently has shown me that knives with plastic handles and no balance are widespread. The knife's balance seems good, how would you rate it?

There is a lot of detail on the whole knife. Pakka wood and a hummer blade combine to make a beautifully balanced design for a knife. Although the handle appears to be just veneer, it is of high quality and is constructed well. The knife I am using can be balanced on one finger right where the blade meets the handle, but I can't seem to post a photo in response to your question. I hope you found that useful. In a nutshell,

You are not getting your money's worth This material becomes dull too easily for practical use
3/5

The reviews were overwhelmingly positive, so I'm not sure how it did it. Unless these people have never used a knife before, they have no idea what they are doing. The pro's are It is of good quality and has a nice weight to it. Feels and looks like a premium product. The following cons A dull knife is practically worthless after a short period of time. The skill wasn't even good enough to make one dish without having to practice.

Seller who lies about what he or she is doing
3/5

A good knife for learning how to use a whetstone. The first thing I want you to know about me is my background. I am a professional chef with 15 years of experience. Two further points. The people who leave 5 star reviews are listed on the "Long Time User" is literally put there. Other than that, the rest is just an abbreviation. Only one of the 6 existing questions is answered by the seller, or by another guy who appears first for the 5 star reviews list.

I have a strong suspicion the seller inflated the customer A $15 knife isn't really worth that much beyond that. If you pay for something, you'll get what you paid Basically, I just got it for fun. By evaluating the owner's response to the questions and their response to the questions, I can quickly see that they aren't telling the truth. On the surface of the blade it appears to be sharpened on both sides, but when you look down it is only a single bevel that has been sharpened. On one side, there should be a 5 degree angle, and on the other side, a 15 degree angle. In addition to lower reviews, there have also been It's kinda heavy, that's for sure. Despite what some people may believe, the balance is not There's no flimsiness at all, and it's exactly where you want it when you hold a knife correctly. If you hold a knife by its handle, you will lose balance. You should use your pointer finger and thumb to grip by the spine, and then you can hold it easily. It has been years since I've been pre-occupied with it so I have no idea how quickly it dulls Trying to grind it down to a double bevel to ensure the cutting edge is even on both sides can take a lot of time. As long as it is taken care of properly, I expect it will retain its edge decently. One of the problems people are having with edge retention might be caused by the single bevel. People don't realize there is only one cutting edge, so trying to hone it evenly on both sides just dulls the knife.

All in all, it's a cheap knife. Let's be honest. There is no hand forging and hammering of these things, then sticking a wooden handle on them and shipping them all the way to the U. S. The price for this service is Whetstones are a good thing to have. The knife is a great learning tool, so buy it and learn how to sharpen it. You can see good videos on YouTube where people take $1 knives and make them into insanely sharp knives. Once that's done, you should go through your kitchen drawer and start sharpening them. If you really need better knives, then buy them, or simply maintain the ones you already have with your new skills. There are a lot of knives under $100 that I can recommend. It remains to be seen whether this will be successful.

Very good knife for the money
3/5

The blade is very sharp, for sure. After coupons and rebates, it cost less than $5. The packaging is elegant, it came in a day, and it came in a day. The heel guard took some of the shine off of the blade, and the blade is very thick compared to actual Japanese knives. The handle is also a bit off in balance, making it hard to hold for long periods of time. When I cut apples, onions, and peppers, I felt like it took a lot more effort than when I used my Santoku. There must be a problem with the blade because it is thick. Five dollars isn't too much to spend on it. It would be demotivating to me to buy it again if I paid more than that.

What a great knife at such a great price! For testing out the shape and determining whether I would use it enough to justify buying a high quality version, I purchased this knife
5/5

However, I won't be purchasing the higher quality version because this is an amazingly good knife at an extremely low price. The packaging really carries the weight of quality and the knife backs up that statement. There's a very nice feel to the handle, it's solid to achieve a good balance and feel, the blade itself is beautiful, and the edge stays sharp very well. With expensive knives in my arsenal (Wusthoff, Henkel, Global) I know what I want and this knife surprises me by being better than what it should be for this price point ($18).

It has a good cutting weight and is a beautiful knife
5/5

As for weight, it is sufficient to cut without exerting too much force. I typically don't write reviews, but this knife gives me a beautiful impression and very appealing look, it is a very sleek, clean knife with a neat handle. I would buy this brand in the future.

There is a lot of weight to this knife
4/5

This knife is made of high-quality metal. An ergonomic handle makes it easy to grip. So far, it isn't sure if it will hold an edge since I just got it two days ago. Although it is heavy, it is almost as heavy as a typical Chinese knife. The balance point is about a half inch in front of the back end of the.

For the money, it is an excellent knife
4/5

The product is great so far but one of them has what looks like a manufacturing defect, but in any event, I think I'll keep them since the defect is barely noticeable, it's just a slight line running down the blade when the core was fused with the outer material. In truth, it's not noticeable at all.

If I was to buy this at this price, I'd feel like I took My jaw dropped when I saw this
5/5

I am As well as the quality and accuracy, the fit and finish must also be considered. Rather than the presentation cardboard box, it would have been nice to have a sheath. It still feels like I bought it for free at this price.
