Questions & Answers

In what direction does this knife have a sharp edge?

There are about 17 degrees, but I think this is an estimate. To maintain the edge on mine, I use a diamond file. It holds the edge and helps me slice things easily. A knife of this quality is recommended.

What will happen to bones if they are cut with this cleaver. Do you like to cut up chicken into parts and smaller, boned pieces before cooking ?

Chicken bones will be cut through with ease by this tool. Some patients with thicker bones may find that it isn't the right choice. While it is made of quality steel, I think it would be better suited to be used on a quality chef's

A cleaver that needs to be sharpened. Is it better to have a 15-degree angle or a 20-degree ?

Please accept my best wishes *br> *br>You may select a shallower angle, such as 25o or 20o, but doing so is not recommended if you plan to chop a lot during your session. By putting your blade at a 30o angle, you can be sure that it will remain sharp for longer periods of time.

Would you mind telling me the length of the blade on this knife? Thanks! ?

The blade of my knife is exactly 8 inches long. The length of the needle is 20 inches (or 0. A third of an inch). A 4 cm binder). A 3/32-inch (or 2 mm) thick piece of metal covers the back of the case (or spine).

Take a look at this knife
5/5

One of the best knives on the market! In addition to buying them for myself, I have given them as gifts as well. When sharpened with a good set of whetstones, it becomes a razor. Even though you will need to learn the nuances of a vegetable cleaver, you will find it to be well worth the learning curve. With this knife you will get a lot done, and after using it regularly for a while, your regular French chef knife will feel lighter and more agile in your newly balanced.

This is a good Chinese cleaver for a great price
5/5

A cleaver like this can be found in countless Chinese households and restaurants. The knife is very well made and the price is very reasonable. The edge from the factory is not very good but it takes a decent edge if you There is one thing I do not like about it and that is that it is heavy, much heavier than western chefs knives that I am As a result of the round handle, my hands got cramped. Providing a comprehensive introduction to Chinese Cleavers, this is a very good book. There is a possibility that you stick with it if you like When you do not like it, you will know precisely what you do not like, allowing you to look for a Chinese Cleaver with a slightly different look.

The disappointment was real
3/5

Since there have been a lot of positive reviews, I decided to try it. Even though I didn't expect refinement because this is a $13 item, I am disappointed nonetheless. When I saw a Chinese cleaver for an affordable price, I couldn't resist buying it. It used to be priced like this for dexter russel! Although I like the versatility of this type of knife, I believe it may not be the best. It has the following problems for me *** *** - Finished with a rough texture. After the first use of the tool, I got a splinter from the spine, and the handle struck me. Since you can fix those with a bit of effort, I would be able to forgive your actions. There is a lot of weight to it. Normally, blade stock is 2 inches thick (25. The weight of a Chinese cleaver only makes it ungainly since, despite its name, it is not designed to chop. An edge won't last long. I only had to make a few minor adjustments to my meal preparations A blade that had been dulled noticeably appeared to have been used on two onions, 10 oz mushroom, and 10 oz chicken breast. EDIT OR REPLACE As well as This is what I cut myself with. The user made some errors (I actually thought before I cut "Be careful that the blade doesn't slip while I do this"), but otoh, I haven't cut myself in a decade with my German or Japanese knives.

A smartphone is something that everyone should own
4/5

Bones can be tough to chop, but the cleaver is great for large loads. Out of the package, the blade is not super sharp, but I can sharpen it to make it more precise. The product looked good, and everything is well built and well It almost did not sell to me due to the reviews, but I did eventually buy it.

Fastly loses its luster
3/5

Three Chinese Cleavers later, this is my third. This one failed to hold on to its edge like the other two. All of the other features of the cleaver appeal to me. It's not that the weight and size are bad, it's just that I practice sharpening the edge too much. This blade seems to have no use for carrots. Sharpening a blade by cutting carrots will dull it. Some users report excellent edge retention, but that is not the case Are you sure it's not the batch of stainless steel you received? Can you please tell me where my first two cleavers are? My parents moved to another country when I moved from Asia. Vegetables are the only thing I use it for. There is a 17 degree cutting edge on my cutting board.

One thing I have learned from cooking for family and friends for over 45 years is the value of the multipurpose knife
4/5

When it comes to preparing food, a good knife comes in handy. In addition to this and two other types of Asian Chef knives, I also have two other knives of this type. There are many things you can do with this knife! You can cut, slice, pound, dice, Essentially, this is a vegetable knife, but can also be used for chicken bones. However, if you want a heavier cleaver, I recommend that you do your homework online and watch YouTube videos. In the end, what you pay for is what you receive. You should add this to your kitchen if you need a knife that does it all.

The knife is excellent and the price is very good
5/5

I bought it on a whim while on sale, thinking it was a good bargain. I found that it was actually a very nice This knife has become indispensable for all my Asian food cooking. It really is as versatile as all the reviews claim. A plastic bag was inside of a thin cardboard sleeve, where it is still sitting. Out of the two, had a good edge. a wicked sharpness throughout any The only thing I was not expecting is the weight of this knife. It weighs 13 ounces. I hone it every time I use it, and it comes right back to an edge like my chef's knives at 5x the price. By the kitchen scale, this knife weighs 369g, which is about twice its weight. That much weight is actually a good thing, as it's the weight of the knife that does the cutting and it makes doing prep work with this knife easy. Typically, Chinese chef's knives are made with a down-hinge The blade of this knife will go through almost everything in a single stroke, which means that the meat will be less ripped (which means that the meat will be more tender and juicy). Due to the weight, you also have a great deal of control, as you have to be very careful to move the knife. It's easy to mince garlic when you have that kind of machine. Although it's listed as a "cleaver", The one knife to rule them all in any Chinese kitchen, this is the fundamental tool. All items were washed and dried by hand there is no sign of rust. Below are the actual measurements of the product I received from you The overall length of the article is A blade size of 25 inches. This box has dimensions of 8in by 3 3/8in and a handle length of 4in. The total weight is 13 ounces, measuring 25in. There is no indication in the product listing where the measurements came.

Having this knife in your kitchen arsenal is a must
5/5

The knife I have is one of the only knives I will ever There are three knives I need for my kitchen It's a Chinese style chef knife, not the American style that you're used to. Once you use a Chinese chef knife, you'll never go back to the American style. The sort of knife I am describing seems unwieldy at first, but once you get used to it, you can't use any other knife without feeling something is lacking. I spent many years in China and this type of knife was awkward at first. In addition to the extra large blades, these knives are perfect for transferring the freshly-prepared food Added the diced vegetables and meat to the wok after cutting them. The knife in question is a fine example of a well-designed knife I made it. This knife did not disappoint me even after using quite a few of these types of knives! Buying a chef knife with confidence will lead to throwing away your other knives.
