There was a white mark on the pot that I couldn't wash When every day use of these pots results in damage from a fingernail, I can only imagine what will happen to them. As I already have my return label, there is no need to explain. Fal used to be a quality product, but it has now become.

(I bought these in 2012), and they are still in good shape. Earlier in my life, I owned a gas stove that scratched off the bottom. A small skillet, the largest skillet, and the sauce pot are shown in the pictures. It has not been seasoned, it has gone through the dishwasher every other day, it is used regularly on high heat, and all my utensils are metal. With the exception of the largest skillet, the inside coating is like brand new. Although I can fry an egg and have it slide out, high temperature things like chicken tend to stick. A big complaint I have is that some of the handles on the pans are a little loose. There is no way to fix them as they are rivited and lose over time.

Images used in marketing should be avoided. A fairly good review made me buy this set, and it was a "Amazon Choice". Until now, I had never been disappointed with a Choice product from Amazon. I am not going to use the small fry pan. Considering how small it is, it could be used for a number of purposes. As I see it, the pot and pans were only included in this set so that they could appear in marketing pictures to balance out the others' size. Compared to the size of their representations, they are all much smaller.

In this nine month period, I used the 5 quart pan less than 6 times to make pasta and stirred with a wooden spoon. In a letter to my wife, Fal refused to offer a warranty replacement even after photos of the damaged pan were provided, and they claimed she had only used a wooden spoon when preparing food in the pan. It is obvious that this pot's manufacturing miskept the specifications, and the warranty claim process at T-Fal is insulting to say the least! I think it is vastly generous to give one star! The buyer should beware of warranty claims made by T I don't know. Update #1 In this update, Having brought this issue to the attention of top The Fal CS chain replaced the cookware after it was determined to be defective. The warranty process is still problematic, but they did manage to get an agreement to resolve it. If the replacement is also defective, hopefully it will not be a problem.
