Do you have the ability to can green beans?

You must pressure can green beans to preserve their taste. Canning green beans does not include any acid.

A glass top stove is in my kitchen. This year, I intend to can some of our garden harvest. Is there a food to use that has a low acid content? What is the maximum temperature I can put a water bath at?

The steam canning and hot water bath canning methods are not suitable for preserving low acid foods. With this canner, only high acid foods (apples, pickles, etc.) can be safely canned. Sterile processing cannot be achieved with the steam canner, as boiling water needs to be added to the jars.

How tall is it? Will it accommodate a 1/2 gallon jar?

I can't reach it since it's not tall enough. If you plan on using a water bath, you need to keep 1 inch of water over the top of your jars. I'm not sure if you can make an extra large pot on the steamer

It was a quality product without any complaints or defects when I purchased my first Victorio steam canner about three years ago for our commercial kitchen. After the first model of the same type was purchased for the commissary about 15 months after that, I bought a second and third canners for home use about 6 months ago. There has been a noticeable decrease in quality between the second and third canners. It is not as heavy as the lid, which allows a lot of steam to escape through the side vents instead of through the vent, so I have However, their gauge is much more troubling. There are now water droplets inside the gauge of the second and third canners, which do not resolve and worsen once the canners are Due to the steam inside the gauge, it is very difficult to read the pressure, and I worry that this could lead to incorrect readings in the future. The first gauge had a problem in less than a year, and now the latest canner has the same issue. In addition, it is not clear whether the third canner will meet the correct pressure for timing. In other words, it is right at the edge, unless I move it to a stronger It appears that the quality control department of the manufacturer needs to be reviewed. Keeping food safe is of utmost importance and hopefully this will not cause it to lose its NCHFP status.

In my lifetime, I have canned hundreds of gallons of fruit and vegetables, and this year I finally wore out my old canner My favorite steam canner was the How are you going to deal with this? Amazon has this amazing steam canner, which I found on there. The only problem was that there was one small problem. The person who is responsible for placing the thermometer knob on the top does not quite get them seated properly. UPS delivered a replacement and provided me with a shipping label for returning the first product. In attempting to open the second one, I also encountered the same problem. My decision to investigate the matter before returning the canner was based on my curiosity. I removed the knob, reseated all the parts, and put them back together using the larger of two Phillips screw drivers. The problem has been fixed. It was a perfect fit all the way around. Due to the aluminum, you are likely to strip the head as well as the threads if you do not take care. You need to use the correct screw driver size when you reassemble the parts and be careful not to cross-thread them. The screw should be tightened only enough to snug things up. Be careful not to overdo it Adjust the tension. This is a very well made canner that I highly recommend. I've been using an old one that didn't have handles on the sides or lid of the water reservoir. The one you're looking at has both of those. Moreover, the handles of the water reservoir are insulated and the knob on top remains cool while being handled. There is also a feature on the top knob that I had never seen before a thermometer that will tell you when to time based on your As a result, one can gauge a steady whisper of steam without having to guess and guess. In the picture, you can see the sturdy flat jar holder that came with the set. It is much better than a water bath canner that I have already used 3 times. It is the same processing time, but you can heat up the water (2 1/2 quarts) much faster than in a traditional canner because you do not have to use as much water. On the top, the gauge shows me when to start timing, and once it reaches the desired temperature, the heat can be turned down and the temperature can be maintained. The top of the jar is tall enough to fit quart-size It's great to see that it has been tested and approved!.

I have read a lot of blogs and have found a lot of useful information I finally caved to the desire to know how to home can in a more interesting way than a typical water bath. Here is what I'd like to tell you It was nicer to can in than to go out. I had no problem with it. There is a significant reduction in water usage. A group of cans can be removed, then another round of cans can be put The steamer can be used to can 3 different sized jars at the same time. Once everything was expelled, the lids adhered easily and sealed in a flash. I had no problem cleaning or moving it, and it was easy to lift and did not make a mess.

I've made 8 quarts of sauce and 3 pints of ketchup so far, and every one has been delicious. There is no diggity bomb more diggity than this Acid food canners are used to preserve food. A warm fall has meant that I've still been able to pick tomatoes, so I decided to try it Approximately 8 quarts of pasta sauce and 3 pints of ketchup have been made so far. The process is super easy and every jar has sealed beautifully. This works well for glass or ceramic top stoves and uses less energy than an old fashioned pot. Pot with a capacity of one quart. You cannot sterilize your jars in it, though it is similar to sterilization apparatuses. When it comes to small batches, I just use a large stockpot, but when it comes to larger batches in peak season, I will use the dishwasher's sanitize cycle or my antique granite blue canner that I use I'm in love with this.
