On the bottom of the neck, there are what appear to be Japanese characters imprinted in the cast iron. On my ceramic stove, I've used it as a kettle to boil water for hours at a time. I keep it on my stove even when it's not in use - It's absolutely stunning. Just a word of warning: When I empty the pot at night, I have to use a pot holder because the water is still hot. (The kettle must be dried after use to prevent rust, as per the instructions.) It's more of a red color. I'm sure this will go on indefinitely.
The teapot itself stands 2 inches tall (not including the lid or raised handle). br>Of course, the trivit, which is a separate piece, is not included.
We cook with it right on the stovetop.
This item has been in my possession for over three years, and the color remains vibrant.

cast iron teapot with trivet in a reddish orange finish. The tea pot arrived on time and holds a substantial amount of tea, which was important given how small many of the cast iron pots are. When compared to many specialty tea shops, the price was very reasonable, and I was able to find matching cups and saucers elsewhere for less than half the price I would have paid at a specialty tea shop.

This teapot is extremely popular among my wife's friends. It's a lovely item with a nice weight to it and appears to be well constructed.
I'm the only tea drinker in my house, so I needed a small teapot that could be heated on the stove while I'm in the kitchen and didn't require any fuss. br>This is exactly what I was looking for in terms of two-cup cuteness. The color is exactly as described, an orange-red. red (the amazon image appears to be fuschia). Everyone enjoys it when I keep it near the stove. People are drawn to it; they want to touch it, talk about it, and the cover even fell to the ground without causing any damage. br>br>Some other cast iron teapots, like this one, cannot be used on the stove, but this one can, so it also functions as a small kettle. br>It's hard to imagine anyone not liking this item, which also includes a matching trivet, infuser, clear instructions, and a lovely wish for peaceful moments. This pot appeals to me, and I intend to purchase at least one more to give as a present.
Consider how the red-and-black-and-white-and-black-and-white- That's what an orange crayon looks like, and it's the same color. This isn't the lovely rust orangy-colored version. The color red is depicted in the image. Also, the paint appears to have been applied with said crayon; it appears to be cheap, but you get what you pay for. Aside from that, it was a solid piece of equipment. I had to return it because the color was too off for my liking, but the return shipping rates were different from what the policy stated, so I was not pleased.
I strongly advise against it! The quality of this teapot disappointed me. This isn't the same as the ones at Teavana. After reading other reviews, I was fine with the reddish orange color. The shoddy paint and finish did not sit well with me. I was going to give this as a gift, but I'm keeping it and going to Teavana for the present. I wouldn't send it back because it would be too much of a hassle. The handle was also disconnected from the tea pot, and even my husband struggled to attach it. In person, the picture appears to be much better. This is a product that I would not recommend.
