It's a little more difficult than it needs to be. It all depends on how much water you put in the reservoir, and you'll have to play around with it a little. It also depends on the type of milk or cream container you're using. I bought a pitcher (stainless steel with a handle), but it doesn't foam as well as my older, wider stainless sugar bowl. Fill the water reservoir with enough water to see water about an inch below the "X" of metal in the water reservoir when you wiggle the machine. Tightly close the reservoir lid. Toggle to the "steam" icon on the left dial. Wait. (Make sure the black plastic foamer is pressed against the metal fixed steam outlet.) Place your milk (I use%) under the black plastic steamer outlet and try not to have the bottom of your milk container touch the bottom of your milk container and get the foam you Immediately, all steam will be turned off. I understand that using cream will result in less foam, but it will help to warm up the cream. I don't know because I never use cream. Good luck, and experiment with different water levels to see what works best for you. My old Krups were a lot easier to work with. I wish I could see the water level more clearly, but this is the best I can do right now.
I'd look for a manual online, but I'm not sure what "scoop" means. The metal filter basket can hold up to four coffee scoops (approximately 1 tablespoon). one for each shot of espresso I make mine twice as strong (two scoops) and use the remaining steam to froth milk for a latte. The Mr. Coffee espresso machine looks a lot like this one. It's possible that the item's instructions will be of assistance.

This appears to be a case of user error. This machine appears to be from the nineteenth century due to its simplicity. In a nutshell, you pour water into the tank, it heats up, and the pressure/steam can be directed out of one of three places: from the coffee spout, the steamer nozzle, or the tank (if the cap is loosen- and only do so if you've already released some pressure through the steamer nozzle). My old Krups espresso machine had to be replaced after losing its seal after more than 15 years. YES! 15 years of excellent home-made espresso (while saving money over going to the coffee shop around the corner - Mines is far superior! I could do without the metal detailing on this replacement, but the black tube cover on the steam attachment is the most important thing to remove. The first two times I used this machine to make espresso, I used the black attachment on the steam - It frothed rather than foamed, and there was milk all over the place! There were no issues after I removed the plastic cover. Each time you use the steam attachment, it's critical that you clean it thoroughly. You'll have to remove the black attachment anyway, or milk froth will be trapped inside. My other piece of advice is that if you want foam, you must use a metal frothing pitcher. For the milk, I've recently begun to use a thermometer. I'm hoping it lasts as long as the previous one did. In any case, saving $5 on a cup of coffee at a coffee shop means it will pay for itself in 11 drinks. Having my own syrups (and whipped cream) allows me to make almost any drink that the big chain coffee shops serve (and in some cases, without the sugar). We buy Torani syrups, so if you decide to start your own barista business, good luck!

It's an excellent device. I like that I can steam milk without having to make expresso. br>br>There are two problems with the seller - There were no instructions included with the unit (I downloaded them), and there was also no measuring spoon for pouring the expresso into the filter and tamping it. I'm going to have to wing it until I can find a suitable replacement.
I had one of these for a long time and it finally gave up the ghost. They're no longer made by Krups. I discovered this used espresso machine on Amazon after trying an expensive Italian pump espresso machine and several other brands of steam espresso machines. This one is irreplaceable, so I'm hoping it doesn't break for a while. I'm not sure why, but the cappuccinos I make with this machine taste better than the ones I've tried with other machines. The only one with a hinge to keep the lid on the carafe was this one. It doesn't take up a lot of room on my counter and is quick and simple to use. I'd rather have this model in used condition than a new model.
For the daily grind, this is the best coffee! br>I also purchased one for my college-aged daughter, who enjoys it as well. br>My only wish is that Krups had used a lever on the left side instead of a knob, which can be difficult to turn at times, especially when your hands are wet.

I purchased it because they have always produced excellent expresso machines. I've owned machines ranging in price from $49. 00 to $1,500. 00. 00 to more than $4,000 This isn't in the same league as a $2k+ machine, but it does make a very good expresso in a quiet manner (NO LOUD PUMP). br>With a very respectable milk steamer, this makes 4 shots in under 3 minutes once loaded. The lattes were excellent. This is an excellent deal. I've purchased them before, and I'm hoping they'll be available in three sizes this time. I'll need another one in five years. Having said that, I am a coffee connoisseur. It is impossible to make a mistake.
