Questions & Answers
This is a new higher-level machine, with an updated steam wand that matches the Oracle touch, and a touch screen that guides you through the steps of making a cup of coffee. The heating mechanism has also been updated, and now the water heats up in just three seconds.
This was recently purchased to replace an 870xl that our daughter had stolen for her new apartment. Although it's mice, I believe I prefer the 870's versatility.
You'll need to take a pressure temperature reading. If you use the dual wall filters to measure the temperatures, you'll notice that they can easily reach 200 degrees if the brew temperatures are raised.

For about four weeks, the machine was fantastic. The frother continued to give me the "clogged" error message at that point. I followed the instructions on the touchscreen for unclogging it. For days on end, this happened. When I contacted Customer Service, I was told that I needed to perform a factory reset. That didn't change anything. I started having problems with the brewing at around the same time. The time it took to extract the data had grown too long. I believe the machine's pump is broken, so I contacted Customer Service again, and a replacement was scheduled. I had to wait 10 days for the replacement unit, and I had to return the first one. As a result of a mistake, they sent me the more expensive Oracle Touch. I called Customer Service again and was told that I needed to return the Oracle Touch first, and that once they received it, we could begin the return process all over again. The machine has now been out of commission for longer than it had been serving me. I'm a dissatisfied client.
MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH! The Barista Touch heating design is clearly causing Breville problems. At the MAX BREW TEMP SETTING, my original Amazon unit (purchased in December 2018) only reached a brew temperature of 145F degrees. The temperature of the espresso should be around 200 degrees Fahrenheit. I contacted Breville and requested a replacement unit, which they assured me would have design changes to address the issue. When it arrived, the brew temperature was only around 145F. I contacted Breville once more, and they instructed me to return the product for a refund. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS MACHINE UNTIL BREVILLE FIXES THE BREW TEMPERATURE PROBLEM. AT 145 degrees Fahrenheit, YOU WILL NEVER MAKE GREAT ESPRESSO.
This brewer makes use of an unusual water filter that can only be purchased from Breville! It will set you back $13. 00 instead of $1. 50. For the rest of their machines, they'll have to pay $75. There isn't enough support!.
Design is excellent. I couldn't get a good pull because I couldn't get the temperature above 120 degrees. The interface is not very user-friendly. Instead, I decided to take the express.
My Barista Touch has been in my possession for almost a month. If you expect to be able to make great espresso right out of the box, you may become frustrated, as I did, at first. While this machine allows you to make high-quality drinks at home, it does come with a steep learning curve. I recommend going to a store that sells and demos these machines to get some expert advice on settings, extraction, and which beans will help you get the most out of your machine. br>Having said that, I am really enjoying this machine! I am now getting consistent shots with great taste, and the milk frother makes it really easy to make. My daughter, who previously worked as a barista, was blown away. I'm even starting to branch out and try new recipes and beverages. The Barista Touch comes highly recommended by me. br>br>I've had this machine for over a year and use it at least once a day. It's still great, and I enjoy using it and continue to recommend it.
It's well-made and produces excellent coffee. It appears to be exactly what is described on the website. It's a little tricky to figure out at first, especially when it comes to opening the water tank, but once you get the hang of it, making great coffee or espresso is a breeze. The only drawback is that a regular/larger coffee cup won't fit under it, so you'll have to pour the espresso into a small cup or espresso cup first, then pour into a larger cup for a latte or cappuccino.
For the past two months, I've been using this machine. I absolutely adore it. Finally, I'm able to consistently produce delicious espresso drinks of excellent quality. It's about as simple as it gets with Breville. It's very simple to tamp and draw a fantastic tasting espresso once you've got the grind and dosage dialed in. I really like the LCD display and how easy it is to use. The machine is also attractive from every angle. I had been using a $600 Saeco fully automatic machine for about 5 years when I decided to upgrade. It's done a great job so far, but there's a lot of room for improvement. It makes a good espresso, but the Breville takes things to the next level. The coffee has a lot more body and smoothness to it. br>br>The automatic milk frother is one of the main reasons I chose this model over the Barista Express. Manual milk frothing has never been one of my favorite things to do. It is extremely inconvenient. You don't have to worry about anything because this takes care of everything. Additionally, the quality is outstanding. br>br>Overall, I'm very pleased with this machine thus far. I'm hoping it lasts as long as my Saeco, especially considering how much I paid for it.
This results in a delectable cup of coffee. The espresso has a quality that is comparable to that of a high-end coffee shop. Though not cheap, there are much more expensive options when it comes to a home espresso machine. br>After a little trial and error to find the perfect coffee amount and grind size, I was very impressed with the taste and consistency for the price. This varies according to the type of espresso beans used. The coffee is hot, and the temperature of the milk can be adjusted. This purchase has exceeded my expectations and was well worth the investment.
