The equipment I have for making coffee is quite extensive. I have become so obsessed that my wife dictates I have to get rid of something before she will let me Thankfully, I found the perfect place for it, and my girlfriend likes the coffee it produces, so I got to keep it! I found this to be a pretty typical french press, and I was surprised by the level of quality and workmanship that went into it. The design is very similar to the chambord by Bodum, which sells for more than double the price. Carafe is a wonderful size, and it comes out of the frame so quickly (be careful, it was a bit difficult to remove at first, but after one brew it came out easily. Having the frame expand with heat is likely what caused it to expand) it might even make a nice vase if you don't like french press coffee. In spite of the brand's reputation, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the mL marks matched reality, as I am accustomed to finding that with reputable brands as well. For the past few weeks, I have been enjoying our French press. However, this morning, when I poured hot water into it, it cracked down the side and dripped hot coffee. My only experience with glass washing has been through hand washing, and I never witnessed any damage until now. It was very disappointing to miss my morning cup of coffee this morning.

' There is one thing I noticed the filter does not reach to the very bottom of the container, it only reaches about 85% of the way This is something I noticed with my french press. I am not sure if this is how all french presses work or not. I found the cleaning to be easy and straightforward. I had to clean all the way down to the bottom surface of the container because it was wide enough. It was easy for the coffee grinds to come out of the filter enjoyed the fact that the bottom of the cube had a wider base than the water container, which ensured that it would remain stable. Possibly the only thing I would change would be the handle I do wish it had been shaped into a round rather than a flat shape so it could have been more ergonomic. All in all, the coffee came out great, and so far, I am happy with the product. Definitely recommend if you do not wish to waste time preparing your own coffee at home.
While it was impressive while it lasted, I do not understand what spurred on it to do this, so I will likely purchase a new French press this time around, worried about wasting money on a repeat of the same bad experience.
