A nice jar for measuring coffee is included with this press, which is made of solid stainless steel. The press does not have measurements of the amount of fluid it can hold either inside or outside. Until I measured the amount of hot water that it could hold, I did not know how much coffee I would need. Two metal screens have a fine mesh on them, so there is a lot of fine dust in the press. A fine mesh screen makes pressing the screen through the coffee grains a bit laborious since it makes it difficult to press through small grains. It may have been necessary to apply slightly more force to the screen due to the finer ground coffee It may be more comfortable to use this press if you grind your coffee coarser. It takes the first four days to have a minimum steep, and another four to have the ground When I used to prepare coffee in glass, 8 minutes was far too long to cool it effectively. Even after eight minutes, the coffee is still piping hot due to the double wall. The steel double mesh filter screens out finer grit when it gets into my drinking vessel as a backup. There is nothing like a hot cup of coffee with full body and flavor. The 1 L French press is easy to clean since it is a simple device. My hands are all I need to dig out the coffee compost. I wouldn't use anything abrasive on the inside, so a bottle brush would work, as well. My one concern was that steel may impart some unpleasant flavor, but this did not appear to be the case The coffee is not too acidic even though I use reverse osmosis water, freshly roasted espresso beans, and just ground coffee.

It is really great so far, and I have only used it a couple of times. Having used a glass press for more than a decade, I am quite familiar with it. Despite my best efforts, I always seemed to break or crack my glass ones. In addition, I always found that my glass press froze up my coffee rapidly, but I just accepted it as a fact. In the face of my latest glass press cracking, I decided to try steel version and I will never again own a glass press. Nevertheless, because of the quality of this stainless steel press, I don't believe I will ever need another one. It feels great in my hands, it looks fantastic, and I appreciate the ability to keep my coffee warm longer than my glass mugs. I also appreciate how easy it is to clean up the stainless steel. It's probably too bad that I won't ever need the coffee bean canister that comes with the kit, but I'm sure I can use it for something else. This book won't let me give it a four on Amazon. As a result, I just clicked on 4 stars instead of 5, but the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I would like it to have measuring marks. I also did not have measuring marks on my expensive glass press. For making coffee in the way I like it, it won't take long to learn how much water to use(without a measuring cup). There is a chance that some people will complain that this screen is harder to press down than most, however, I personally don't mind because it just means that the screen is doing its job well as prevent dirt and dust from entering.
