What is the value of the water and how much is it worth?

The smaller ports are Wort, while the larger ports are Water. It makes no difference which one you use for entering and exiting the building. The smaller ports are connected to one another, while the larger ports are connected to one another.

Selected User Reviews For HFS(R) Homebrew Beer Wort Chiller (7.5'' 2.9''/20 plate, 3/4" x 1/2" NPT)

This item is not suitable for consumption
3/5

Although I'm sure it would work fine if not used with food, the exposed copper brazing makes it unsuitable for use with liquids intended for human consumption. The product is not certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). The copper brazing inside the 1/2" port is difficult to see in the photo, but with enough angled light, it becomes visible. If anything slightly acidic passes through this device, copper poisoning is a serious concern. br>br>Calls to the company phone number on the heat exchanger's sticker went unanswered, and messages went unreturned.

If you have one of these things after boiling your beer, you are finished
5/5

This thing is a beast; once you've finished boiling your beer, you're pretty much done brewing with it. Gone are the days of wasting a lot of water and time waiting for an immersion chiller to cool your beer. This thing took my stuff from boiling to 74° in one pass, and it was 90 degrees outside today, so I'm not sure what the water temperature is, but it's not that cold. This is in the California Bay Area, so that's some quick cooling right there. I cooled 8 gallons of water to 74° as fast as it could flow out of my pot. I won't lie, these chillers are a little intimidating at first, and you'll need all the right connections, which can be pricey, but once you get it going, you won't regret it. I used to hate waiting for the beer to cool, but with this thing, it's done as soon as it's finished boiling, and that, in my opinion, eliminated the worst part of the Brew Day.

It is not something I would suggest
3/5

The following represents solely my personal viewpoint. This item is not something I would recommend purchasing. br>br>First and foremost, the water side of this unit was clogged and failed to function as intended. Perhaps I received a faulty product. Who knows what will happen. I just handed it back to you. br>br>The real reason I'm not buying this is because I believe it's not designed for food (again, my opinion). It not only lacks an NSF rating, but it is also clearly labeled as a heat exchanger (radiator). Is there any lead in this? Who knows what will happen. It makes no claim to the contrary. Only 99 is written on it. 9% copper braising % It's impossible to say whether lead-free solder was used. I can only assume no, as this isn't the only review that says so, despite the fact that I didn't contact the company.

The chiller is fantastic! This product was purchased to replace a homemade copper tube in a hose counterflow chiller that I had been using for several years
5/5

I needed something that was smaller and easier to connect without leaking. When I combined this chiller with a chugger pump, I was able to chill my beer directly into the fermenter instead of having to recirculate it as I had to with my old system. This is something I should've bought a long time ago! Another great upgrade was the use of quick disconnect fittings.

The room is nice, but it is too small
3/5

5 gal. Two passes (120 deg. ) were required for 210° wort. 75 degrees on the first pass 2nd pass) in an ice bath bucket with 42°F tap water I wish I'd gotten the plate with the 50 on it.

It's fantastic! A garden hose and copper tubing were used to make a homemade counterflow chiller
5/5

It worked perfectly until the thin copper tube began to bend and crack. Fortunately, I noticed it while cleaning it when water poured out of places it shouldn't have, so I went to Amazon and found this. I wasn't sure about it because it was so much cheaper than the ones I found in brew shops and online, but I figured I'd give it a shot. It's fantastic! It takes me about 15 seconds to get it from boiling to 90°F. It will take approximately ten minutes. To get to 72 degrees, it takes 15 minutes. I recirculate the water back into the pot as it cools until the entire batch is at room temperature. The only drawback, which was not significant enough to detract a star, was the lack of mounting hardware. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to put something together. But it's great, and I've never had a clogging problem. It appears to be very easy to clean as well. It also takes up much less space than the one I had before. So far, it's been used on two batches, one of which was a stout. I am ecstatic.

I had no idea how good this method of chilling was! We connected it
5/5

The water from the hose was turned on. Our wort pump was turned on. We had the entire 5-bedroom house to ourselves. In a matter of minutes, gallons of water were cooled! For years, we had relied on standard coiled copper cooling systems. This is a huge improvement! We filter the wort going back into the system with a small filter basket, and then run it through the primary fermenter with the same filter basket. It is simple to maintain. Simply recirculate hose water through the unit until it is clear. Drying is relatively simple, but I'm thinking about doing a little baking at 250 degrees F after I'm sure all of the water has evaporated. I'm overjoyed to have this device as part of our brewing arsenal! This is a fantastic item!.

It's a great way to heat up your water
5/5

The heat from the engine cooling system is used to warm water in a holding tank. The heat exchanger is quite impressive. After a seven-mile drive, the water temperature rose from 80 degrees to 150 degrees. I poured it into my jacuzzi and added some cool water, and the temperature reached 104 degrees. 9°. Get ready to unwind!.
