Upon receiving my Deluxe version of this game, I noticed that it also had the Nickel and Lead disclosure. There is no doubt that the discs have been Nickel plated (that shiny silver look, not a stainless look.). As a result, lead is sometimes used in nickel plating (quick search reveals this), so the discs probably contain lead as well.
Essentially, it's a snap-on extension for the handle that stays on the black plastic item. If you don't have it, it works fine as well. It's just a little easier to do

I don't know what to say. I'm in awe at what a small tool that is. The cookies I made were stunning and elegant, and I never would have imagined making them. I let my 2 year old press the cookies and she made the best cookies ever. Now I can be proud of my cookies and give them away as gifts! It's love at first sight. My jaw dropped when I saw how well that little press worked. Last night, I felt like a genius after I used it for the first time. It is true that the chamber is small, but I do not mind having to refill it so often because of the results.
