Despite its poor design, this is an incredibly well built version
3/5

It's well designed, well built, and very comfortable to use - that's typical of OXO products. Though a well built version of a horrible original design, it still makes a good overall impression. If you are cutting dough with fat in it-you should always use a pastry cutter. Fats such as lard and butter. The worst thing you can do with a tool such as this one is start with very cold fat so that you end up with flaky crusts or buns. As the fat gets caught between the blades, it will cause a blockage. There will be a I don't want to deal with cleaning it. There is a risk that it will not properly cut the dough. My favorite round dough cutter from OXO would be to make a proper version of it (i. e. In addition to stainless steel, there is also 3. A serrated edge circle between 5 and 4 inches in diameter). Cutting dough is cleaner, doesn't get clogged, and works with cold fat well.

I didn't even get to finish 5 pies with this junk! My only use for this was to make pies, and I only make two pies that use it a year
3/5

I did not even have time to eat a handful of pies when this broke This is absurd, especially when you consider that the product comes with a 5-year I struggled to push down a mixture of flour, brown sugar, and chilled butter, the handle broke off as I was working with the crumb topping for pie number 4. As a result of this sudden "loss of handle integrity," I was able to both pinch my hand between the handle and the vertical shaft, as well as sever it from my wrist. I had no choice but to throw out the crumb topping since it was hazardous waste, and I had to make my pie without the tool I needed and the ingredients I hadn't planned on having to discard. This tool has only one pro the handle was very soft and comfortable to hold until the moment it broke and caused serious damage to my hand. I will contact Oxo tomorrow to see if their "better warranty" is any better (supposedly a 5-year warranty for this item) The only thing I'd like is a refund of at least my purchase price so there's no point in me getting a replacement.

Because this junk has left me with a sour taste in my mouth, maybe I got a lemon
3/5

My favorite OXO products are their cleaning The quality of their products is always high You have never disappointed me with the quality of your service. I was doing just fine until I came across this piece of garbage. This product is not sturdy enough to withstand its intended usage, and I am very disappointed in it. My blades shattered the FIRST time I used this to cut butter (refrigerated, not frozen) into flour. I don't know if it was due to my superhuman abilities, but the FIRST time I used it all the blades I feel sad when I think about it. If you want to find a better-priced solution, please look elsewhere. The tool I'm about to make is similar to the one I've made.

The experiment lasted no more than Until now, I've had no complaints with this product except with the last 2 times I've used it, it just won't cut my butter! I purchased this back in September of 2018, and have used it weekly to make scones, pie crusts, biscuits, etc
3/5

There are always issues with the blades and I don't seem to be able to use it. Considering that I use this quite frequently, I am on the lookout for something that is a little stronger and.

It is impossible to cut in frozen butter into flour with these wide spaces
3/5

The first time I saw it, I liked it. I feel as though it was sturdy and sharp enough to cut frozen butter into flour evenly. The reason I gave this one star is because I used it for the first time last night. The spaces between the parts of the cutter make it too difficult to make pie dough. I bought it after borrowing my moms old one for years (a different brand), and this one does not let me make pie dough, as I had hoped. The butter became very small and difficult to incorporate (to prevent the butter from melting out as I baked) so I used a fork and my finger to prevent it from melting.

That's the best I can find! I have found that this is the best pastry cutter/ dough blender out there
4/5

There is only one reason I gave it four stars this is the second one I've had to purchase in the last two years because the plastic and metal catch on the handle wear out. With that size handle and blades that don't bend even when iced ingredients are added, it is a perfect tool. In every respect, it's perfect, but the snap-together handle is not. Disclosure I am a paid consultant. I am using this FAR more than an average home baker since I am a home bakery and have made over 1500 pies this year. As long as it is used for normal household purposes, this product will last for years to come.

It is made well and is sturdy
5/5

They provide excellent customer service and I have never been disappointed with a product from OXO. Compared to the original I got 15 years ago, this is an improved design. Rolling of a pastry cutter can be caused by the round handles of many pastry cutters. A flattened handle is part of this improved version. It has a flattened top and a round bottom so you can wrap your fingers around it. It takes a lot of force to cut through the wood with these cutting tools. As a gift for my sister, I purchased this product, and I will likely purchase one for myself shortly. I had to replace the metal cutter on my old OXO party cutter after it bent and broke after a lot of OXO's customer service is something I wasn't aware of before throwing it out during a downsizing. My experience since then has taught me a lot. In terms of their lifetime guarantee, they mean it, as I have observed with their other products. Instead of getting this one instead of the cheap pastry cutter I ended up buying in a crunch, I now kick myself for not buying it earlier. It's not a question of hesitation. There is no way you can go wrong when you use.
