On the market, there are few good options. It's difficult to see the etched markings. The markings do not correspond to the actual size of the object. The cutting edge was not smooth, but rather very rough. It has a nice appearance and appears to be made of stainless steel. Only time will tell if it can withstand repeated use.
Funny thing is, I'd had one for years and had no idea what it was called! This one appealed to me because it is almost identical to mine, with one notable exception: The measurement markings are etched on rather than printed on, so they won't wear off over time. That struck me as crucial information for someone considering a career in the culinary arts. I mostly use my scraper for scooping ingredients up and cutting bar cookies, fudge, and other similar treats; it's also great for smashing ingredients like nuts, and I've used it to press graham crusts and Rice Krispie treats into pans. It's a useful little item to have on hand!.
It doesn't bother me because I can still use it. Overall, it's a good product.
This one looks almost identical to the one I lost, though the etched markings for inches and centimeters are difficult to see. The scraper must be angled just right in order to catch the light and be visible. I'm a happy baker aside from that.
I bought two of these heavy-duty stainless steel pastry cutters to make the best flaky pie crust you've ever seen; they fit comfortably in your hands and allow you to mix the perfect crust quickly and precisely. These are so good that I'm thinking about making pies to sell to supplement my retirement income. br>From a satisfied client!.
This is what I use to scoop up chopped ingredients and place them in the pot. It's much better than using your hands or, even worse, the blade of your knife.
I have a lot of cake smoothers, but this one has become my new favorite!! Love it! I wish I had done so much earlier. I like how it feels in my hand, and I'm looking forward to making perfect buttercream cakes with it.
It cleans my table thoroughly and cuts all of my dough into the precise sizes that I require for the tasks at hand.
