It appears to be high-quality stainless steel, and I've put all of the pieces through the dishwasher multiple times with no issues.
It's of excellent quality, but I'm not sure where it was manufactured.
don't know if it was given as a gift

For the price, this is a good set of tools, but there are two things to keep in mind when placing an order. The pastry cutter isn't as big as you might think. That's probably fine depending on the user, but if you have large hands, it might be an issue. My main gripe is that the cookie cutters and biscuit cutters' bases are not polished. That is to say, they are very sharp after being cut into shape. When I was cleaning one, I cut my hand because I didn't realize how sharp the bottom was. It's fine if you treat it right, but it's not what I was hoping for.
I bought this pastry blender because it was part of a set. Especially when it comes to biscuit cutters. ummm. SCORE! br>Everything is solid and long-lasting. br>br>I'm disappointed in the pastry blender's handle because it's so small. When I'm trying to blend the butter/shortening into my flour, I don't like it when my hand gets pinched. br>br>My other pastry blenders (which are currently in storage) are wider and can accommodate all four of my fingers. Although this brand comfortably fits three fingers, I prefer to apply pressure with all four fingers. br>br>The handles on the biscuit cutters are inconvenient to store because they must be stacked in the correct order to save space, but they are a great feature for holding onto the cutter while cutting the dough. br>br>I've yet to use the pastry brush or flat spatula. One day perhaps. 🙂.
I worked for over ten years in a bakery owned by my family. Commercial-grade equipment is something I'm familiar with. Although not particularly sturdy, these tools are adequate for the average home baker.
It's the first time I've used it, and it appears to be well-made and long-lasting. The cost is about half of what it would be to buy all of the items separately at a big box store, and the quality is superior. I plan on using it for a long time.
I would have given this a 5-star rating if not for the fact that the pastry blender had sharp burrs from the manufacturing process that I had to file smooth before using it.
But this is the best I could come up with! A cookie cutter, to be precise. They need to be a little bit more specific. And point to whatever it is they're selling on a specific item. Not everything should be said on a single page, and ordering should be done in a timely manner. You've got nothing else. What happened to the rest of the group? What is this $30?.
The biscuit cutters didn't last long. When I went to cut my first biscuit, the handle snapped off, and I didn't even try hard. All of the other items are in good working order, and I enjoy them.
Each item in this set was individually wrapped and delivered in a plastic bag. It included a number of items that I needed to supplement my baking supplies. The pastry cutter, basting brush, egg separator, and dough knife all arrived in excellent condition, but the biscuit cutters were bent and one part of the handle on the largest size was missing. br>br> The basting brush's handle is metal, and it's made of sturdy plastic. Both of these items are pleasant to hold. The dough knife, on the other hand, is made of a hard plastic that is uncomfortable to hold and does not fit well in my hand. br>br>These tools will do the job, but they aren't the most comfortable or high-quality options.
